Subject: Rage Against the Plastic Music Industry - VICTORY!
It's official - We have but two days to knock the evil X-Factor off Christmas number 1 in the charts for real! The X-Factor, a UK television program of Simon Cowel, has had the X-Mas number 1 postion since 2005. Help support the band - Download Killing in the Name of!
Cosmic, ive argued with a few of my mates via facebook about this topic, but lets get down to brass tacks.
First of all, the Christmas number one means feth all anyway. The "number 1" has meant nothing for about ten years.
Secondly, all this makes happen is the X -factor lot buy more copies.
Thirdly, and here is the killer, they are both signed to the SAME LABEL (Sony) So for every copy of RATM you buy, Cowell gets more cash!
The whole thing is entirely fething pointless is you ask me. All it means is that more records get sold and Mr Cowell and his suited chums make far more than they would have done if we had all just carried on with our business!
And how much are "shelter" gonna get from the whole debacle? feth all.
Save your £3.99 on a single(or however much it is nowadays) and give the whole £3.99 to shelter.
Cut out the middle man.
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

That's very enlightening dude, I understand your point of view. I've down-loaded the single anyway, not for Cowell's sake, but for RATM's.
Who knows, perhaps this could make X-Mas the number 1 a more interesting subject matter.
It does suck that they're both signed under Sony, but that's not the point. The "campaign" was started by the fans, and the whole thing is not/was not originally about the money... For once!

True, that. I've downloaded it from Amazon. It was suprisingly fast and easy, too. The HMV website, on the other hand, totally crashed on me!
RATM supporters or not, I hereby tell you: Download the bleeding single! What's 40-70p anyway?

I would of course prefer RATM over X factor if only because i actually listened to them for a time, but ... meh.. it all goes in the fat cats pockets as far as im concerned!

Right again. It's a fact that most bands like RATM or KoRn start off being pure and awesome. Their first or second albums are always the best. I would have thought that is the same with most bands these days. I always judge a mainstream band's awesomeness by their early years...
Each to their own, I suppose?
EDIT: The use of the word "sad" has been removed...

As are most successful musicians, or "celebrities" for that matter...
Anyway, do most high-ranking politicians actually do their job for their country's sake? No they do so for their own personal/financial gain, of course!
Listen up people! It's never too late to make a contribution towards the final top Christmas chart result. Who cares whether it's all just a masterfully crafted plot of Simon Cowell - Does it not keep our simple, insignificant and little lives occupied/distracted from the world's fightening realities?

I could think of better bands to give this level of attention to, none of which are on a major label.
Casting darkness, deep inside your mind
Screaming razors, resonating down your spine
Wearing you down, I'll haunt you where you sleep
Vulnerable, I make the guilt sting
Fear of the dark Bathe the world in spite, it keeps you in place
Growing nervous Abused humiliated, naked and ashamed
I will find you My mouth is full of ruin, I breathe it into you
Princess chaos I'll set the world on fire, I'm gunna start with you
So you are buying music that is on a major record label to make a stand against major record labels.
Good luck with that.

Although I don't really care now.. Journey 'Don't Stop Believing' in the top ten. Yeah!!
Thanks for stopping by, Morathi's Darkest Sin. I didn't really want to post yet another comment after my last, as it may have looked "desperate" shall we say!
You're right about there being 30 minutes until we know the end result. As you can tell, I was quite confused as to when this time would have been... Cheers!
Haven't YOU downloaded Killing in the Name yet?
Go forth and do so then!

Why do you care so much? Firstly Rage is a bunch of sellouts, their recent albums have been pretty poor, and holiday sales charts are meaningless pop popularity contests. Are you somehow financially invested in this?

*Sighs*
If you want the truth, I first heard RATM at the beginning of this year, and liked their music very much.
So when I discovered that there was a campaign to get them to x-mas number 1, I was quite excited - People were actually talking about music that I listened to... Even my sister was interested!
That's all, to be fair. That, and my very specific musical tastes, have made me care about this. I don't enjoy the X-factor (although the auditions are fun to stop and watch for a few minutes), and nor do I care about much media issues.

Good day to you too, sir.
See? You should have just explained that from the beginning. That's perfectly reasonable.

Congratulations to Sony and Simon Cowell. 450,000 sales for Joe McDog gak and 500,000 for Rage against the Tax man.
Thats 950,000 songs for Sony music, and a few hundred grand onto Cowells shares.
I bet he is fething gutted.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

I'm still at a loss as to HOW exactly this was supposed to impact the "plastic music industry".
As mattyrm pointed out Sony and Cowell still profit, how is this toppleing the corporate music behemoth???
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I'm so glad rage gets to win a contest set by the music industry for the music industry so that they can be better known specifically for selling a lot. This is certainly a strike at the plastic music industry, we won a great battle here today by buying enough to get the result changed.
