I think that chaos could be next because:
1.GW have not confirmed anything yet
2.They seem to be releasing things in terms of popularity:Marines,Imperial guard,Space-wolves,Tyrannids,Blood angels so next it might be chaos because they are probably next most popular.
3.Necrons and Dark Eldar need to have lots of plastic releases and they can only do a certain number of plastic releases at one time.

What codex do you think might be next?

Doubt it will be a full on codex .Maybe something extra like a codex specifically on different legions .

Yeah, although the current csm dex is quite bland and they need a proper plastics range plus it would go well with daemonhunters after them

Well, the guesses for the next codex to be released are usually wrong anyway.
I think it will be a Xenos codex, since we have seen IG, SW, Nids, and BA recently.

Yeah I found it bland also . Most of the fluff was just about the Horus stuff or the Gods .Wasnt much detail regarding other Legions or crazy warp amchines.

Yeah they need more about the three fates of a chaos space marine because I liked that bit, especially the one where you get turned into a spawn and get kicked about by your former minions. LOL

I felt it was abit rushed the codex. They just made everything plastic and brought out possed marines .I feel there wasnt much thought put into it .

Well, they released the Chaos codex shortly after the 4th ed arrived.
I also felt they did it too fast and didn't think much about deepness and details.

I have heard that many Chaos players gave up Warhamer 40,000 due to the codex, this saddens me :( Also I would like to see things like proper Chaos drop-pods, Plastic plague marines and all the other kits to be updated. Also there need to be God specific Land Raider and Dreadnought varients.

Well I just started chaos marines before the new codex came out ,so I thought I would stick with them . I dont really care how bad they are I am going to stick it out .

No am sure it was 5th edition . I started playing space marines when 4th edition came out . Thin kit was either 04 or 05 4th came out.

I am sticking with mine, I might just do a new legion because it is a bit hard for nurgle players concidering you have to either pay for metal models, forgeworld upgrades which is expensive or try to model your own if you have good greenstuff skills. So it is not that fair. Although I do like the look of the Word Bearers. Also some people don't like my painting because they don't really know that nurgle is supposed to look messy and crusty, they prefer the factory-fresh look. :(

I have heard vague rumours of a fleet based marine chapter to be released later this year. It's either black templar or Dark Angels. I am praying hard to the emperor for it to be Dark Angels. You think the chaos codex is bad, read through the dark angel one

Yeah but there have already released Blood angels, I don't think that there will be any loyalist marines til next year.

Better be Necrons or Dark Eldar, I'd rather those be less linear to play, than any other army to be polished.

I think I heard that necrons were going to be done around late 2010 or early 2011.

Yeah that's what the recent rumours suggest, but there's always hope for them being sooner. As long as it's no later than January that the rumours say, i'm happy.

Next *after* Blood Angels?

The short list of "very old" Codices is:
- Black Templars
- Grey Knights
- Inquisition
- Necrons
- Sisters of Battle

Of these, GK/Inq was rumored for this year, with Necrons for early next year. DE are wishlisted as usual.

Templars would be the easiest release, as it'd just be a question of rearranging their bitz sprue to add the legs and torso backs needed for 10 complete models per sprue.

Sisters haven't had a peep, likely because the amount of work to make Sisters infantry is pretty high for something with limited sales potential.

But GW's crackdown on rumors is doing a good job of keeping the general public in the dark until 2 months prior to release.


Overall, the only models I'd actually buy would be plastic Grey Knights and/or Templars to expand my Crusader army. The rest aren't things I'd be actively collecting.

I have seen stirrings of Eldar actually.

Thinking Eldar or their dark kin.

Dark Eldar and Grey Knights are currently the big contenders for release next.

If they release in the order of oldest it should be:
Dark Eldar
Necrons
Grey Knights/ inquistion or whatever GWS scheme for more money will be
Than i believe templar followed by angels.

I agree with the above, although I think they will stick with their marine - xenos - marine - xenos pattern.

So that would make the schedule for the next yea or so look something like this:

April - Blood Angels
June - Spearhead
~August/September/October - Dark Eldar
~December/January - Grey Knights
~March - Necrons

GW has put out some information that DE will be out before Christmas this year. that would be the next codex since June is spearhead, and they are releasing or at least rumored to be releasing a new edition of Fantasy this year
