recently, Scibor started to sell conversion parts for 28mm miniatures.
Yesterday he released a set of bitz fitting Thousand Sons:

These are nice, but I keep waiting for him to release some of these with a theme I can use!

Nice! what are the smaller ones on the side used for?

Shoulders, maybe? Terminator arm-pit shields? Maybe they're meant as the tops of staves or vehicle decoration?

Nice as heck, but what are the prices? Plus I agree with alph I need him to release something I can use. EVERYONE TO SCRIBOR, TELL HIM THE EMPORERS CHILDREN NEED BITS !!!!

Price is 5€/7$ for these sprues (4 helmet decoration and 8 shoulder decoration, see link to shop).

I wonder how much the price would drop without the gigormous sprue (seems to be half the material) on the bottom .

Interesting though, I would be more inclined to release whole pads and helms.

Given how the ginormous sprue is attached to some of the other bitz by such a large area, I'm guessing it's just for the display pictures, and the pieces you buy will come with something more reasonably smaller.

That would be good then, I know the legal reasons to label your own models, so maybe they are doing it digitally.

I am pretty sure it is the original sprue. Remember that the parts are really small (head decoration! and something even smaller). And models are usually not paid by weight.

And these parts are classified by me to be fitting Thousand Sons, not by Scibor. And they fit fantasy models as well, so copying GW IP is unnecessary

Scibor does digital modeling. There was a bit of controversy when they originally offered their services. They were selling conversions and sculpts where they utilized steel press molds to press green stuff to make their details. Some felt they were misrepresenting how they made their models. Scibor would digitally model and have CNC machined the steel press molds. I think in this instance they either used the digital file to create 3D print or they CNC machined a steel mold to use with their resin casting.

Now I have this image of 1KSons Marines with their helmets collapsing into themselves ala Stargate.

O_O ......What the.....I guess they could look alright. I like the first set but these are a little out there. I have noooooo idea on how to use these.

Edit: As an Eldar player, I think its great 1000sons players get something for once. They need it.

Those bits would make slick backpack vents for Tzeentch IC's. Nice.

Otherwise I have no idea where they go...

These are pretty sweet. If I ever start up a 1ksons army this is probably the first place I'll go.

Also, thanks for pointing out the Templar shoulder pads. I've been looking for something like those.

I do wish he'd tell us where he thinks these bits are supposed to go...

Yeah, I don't get it either... two of them could possibly fit on someone's head with a bit of chopping... but the little ones...

He calls them helmets, so I guess they should replace the SM helmets, but I don't think they fit without major changes.
While I would like to see Anubis and Horus helmets, these are too 2D and not enough 3D for me.

You can't copyright "Egyptian" but maybe you can copyright "Egiptian"!

Almost seems like he didnt want to sculpt them and instead just relied on CAD..

(I get the feeling hes just pushing out product to fill up his catalogue and say "new release")

It looks like they don't replace helmets, but actually fit over them.
