Looks like they would fit onto the shoulder pads pretty well (going by the curve on them)

Someone is going to have to buy and review those... I want to like them, really, but I'm a bit wary of spending any money at all on something that I can't see working for any purpose.

EDIT: It actually just occurred to me, they appear to be upside-down on the sprue. Right? Or am I just imagining it? Nah, nvm they wouldn't look right. Just the cutout part on "top" looks like you could fit an sm helmet in there.

The curve along the back would suggest shoulder pad or backpack vent decoration to me.

They certainly wouldn't work as helmets.

I realy hope that there was some sort of “press release” mis-communication or inadvertent photo mix-up and these are, in fact, Egyptos ICONS rather than helmets.

They are so flat and two-dimensional (granted, THICK, 2D) that I can’t see them as helmets at all. Also, the fact that there is no neck connection point on the “helmets” like his other helmet conversion parts makes me think ICON more than head.

Scibor usually does fantastic work so I’m inclined to believe that this must be the wrong picture of the helmets … I’m hoping anyway.

I kinda like them. The model is rather overloaded with those wings (which by themselves are nice), the fur coat and the headcrest. But for something like Chosen or a Chaos warlord's bodyguard in a Thousand Sons army those heads would work if painted well.

What I'd like Scibor to publish as conversion pieces are those ornate leg guards he likes to put on his models. I'd buy some of those in a heartbeat.

You could use them on Dreadnoughts, now if only they would give TKsons Dreds that worked...

I might pick up a few of these bits for my "Sekhet" project... now that I've finally finished scraping off all the =I= bits off of my GKTermies!

Just going to state the obvious for those who haven't worked it out. They would fit on the top of a plain marine head, above the forehead.

"JAFFA KREE!!!!!" ok after seeing it like that I am sold. That model is horrible. I agree the shin guards are awsome and what not but overall the model doesn't flow and the head is well just plain bad. Not one of his better bits I will say.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I like everything except for the head (I also wouldn't use the wings myself on my Thousand Sons). The reason I don't like the head is the lines are too pronounced, and I think it's not quite wide enough (too skinny). But if Scibor puts out those bodies, weapons and pads, I'll be buying.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Nick, I gotta say I think the CAD comments are beneath you. Judge the final results sure, but judging the medium used is a bit petty. If I paint a poster with a brush and paint, or with a wacom and the comp, if the image looks the same in the end, it really makes no difference.

They def have a CAD look, but if people like it, who cares right? God knows pulling that off without CAD is not really worth the time. GW is cadding left and right too, in the end, the model in my hand is all that counts!

Wings dont look right on that model and not a big fan of the head. Really like the shins and chest though.

Tom,

Discussion loooonng over with. I was NOT criticizing the work, someone said they wanted a DVD on Scibors SCULPTING technique based off of these bits, I just informed them that these are not sculpted, but CADed. I use CAD too, I was just being informative...

Uhem, I still think they look a bit lazy to be honest, regardless of what he used to sculpt them.

Where do you put a head in there? Yeah yeah its 40k...

I agree, definitely arent the greatest pieces lol, that's a fair crit IMO! The Cad thing get's my goat, like anything else, it can be used to make poop, or awesomeness. It's all down to skill and creativity, and the ability to translate that into the final product consistently.

In this case, the individual bits are not the greatest by any stretch... Although, maybe as add on's to backpacks they would fare a bit better. Def not head-worthy tho... for me anyways.

No proof there, I'm afraid. It doesn't look any more like a helmet on the model than it did off.

I think it'd look more like a helmet if you could see it. Jesus there's a lot of gak going on with that model.

I like Scibor's stuff - I even own some of it - but here, yeah... less is more.

I wasn't proving it was good, or that anywould would like it or even approve of it. I just confirmed that the intention of the creator - in this case Scibor - was for these to be used as heads. Thereby disproving some of the other speculations that were being discussed.

Re-read the few posts before mine that I posted this in reply to.
