Two years ago I started a thread that eventually became the Pokeminis P&M blog thread here on Dakka.

Eventually I named my gaming blog pokeminiatures on blogspot.

I stopped updating the thread when the end of 2009 hit.

Now it's five months into 2010 and I'm ready to start painting again. I tried to start sooner,
but I hit a wall painting some historical figs. However, I've nearly completed some terrain
and made progress on the Soviets and so will start updating regularly.

Disclaimer: I don't really post in a timely fashion to change anything. The best I can do
with your advice is use it for the next iteration of the project posted.

Here's a start: Soviet tanks and arty for FOW.

I was literally just looking at your FoW stuff in the gallery and wondering what became of it. Glad to see more is on the way, looks like good progress on the tanks already. The russian armour looks like so much fun to paint.

If I ever start FOW, I'm torn between using Soviet or German armies. I do like grey...

Fow never really did hit a chord with me, but I congradulate you for actually being able to paint something the size of your fingernail!

I didn't get any real hobbying in again until April, when the guys at Black Sun Games came
to make some Warmachine terrain to earn their Combat Engineer stamps for the league.

I built a bunch of houses using Gareson's method of attaching two pieces of 2" foam
together, cut a roofline with a utility blade, then brought materials with me so that the
guys could dress it up.

Looking good already, i like scratch building terrain, its so much more fun than buying the stuff. I take it those buildings are FoW scale?

Take a look at the second image. That's a temple flameguard testing out
the size of my trench system.

edit: Wow, that's a surprisingly dirty sounding sentence.

So for the Warmachine league, we needed flag stands for the finale. I looked around for
some flags, and finally I decided to use the stamper that I was provided as league organizer.
I got 40mm bases from Litko, thick brass rod, and proceeded to set the rod into the bases at
various angles to simulate a flag pitched into the dirt. You can see my method for basing
here as I apply regular sand to the bases and prime the whole thing all at once to help
seal the sand and give me a good color to paint on.

The trenches look good - I keep thinking about doing a trench system display base for my Mercs.

Pffft. There's quality, then there's quantity.

Here's how the flag looks.

I stamped each side of a piece of paper folded over. Then when it was dry I dipped
the whole thing in watered down white glue and curled the paper different ways for
the "flag effect." Overall, I think it looks okay.

On the Soviet assault guns, the one with the log attached - is that sculpted on or is it a separate thing that you glue on? I've seen it on a couple of the soviet kits and cant figure it out.

How is it you can paint soo much though?
I tend to get bored far too quickly and never finish anything.

This year im up to about 2 models, if you add all the paint used together lol.
