Their design team will also be on hand to show off their latest work and answer any of your questions. Will Hayes will be displaying a large Eldar project that he has been working on - in fact it's a very large Eldar project! Stuart Williamson will be showcasing a brand-new Land Raider variant and Phil Stutcinskas will be offering tips on using weathering powders.

It sounds like we might actually get a look at the finished Eldar Phantom Titan at Games Day. If this is true, then what was said about the Titan being available by Christmas could actually be a reality! I'm also interested as to what this new Land Raider variant could be...any thoughts?

Probably a Space Sharks created "Siege" variant for the Land Raider.
And as for the Phantom...of course.

They already have a "command" land raider. And there's whatever role the Helios is supposed to fill. I guess it will be something along the lines of a "Windi-Raider" (Vindicator-Land Raider)

*we refer to Vindicators locally as "Windicator".

I missed the LR reference. The Vindi Raider sounds iffy, but it is the only weapon missing from the LR chassis.

Perhaps another PH Raider closer to the original plastic kit? I only mention it due t the recent PH armor kits and the fact that IA:2 had drawings of the original Rhino mixed in with the current kit.

Something that can be used in many armies without the "FW is legal" argument would sell more I think.

I really doubt you'll see a "vindiraider", just because it'd take away so much of the carrying capacity that it'd be useless as a Land Raider y'know?

OH-I Wanna get out of here

You guys know there are actually rules for a "vindi-raider" up of GW's site. Its called the Land Raider Ares. Its Apoc legal (not even IA, regular Apoc) and there is no kit for it.

bout 3/4 way down on this page, under Space Marines.

Yup its been around for years.. and like almost all the FW/apoc variants..

.. it serves no purpose. Its more points and is worse, non-upgradable heavy flamers, really? and no transport capacity. Atleast its not as bad as the helios I suppose and the Prometheus well looks neat

The Dark Angels have a unique variant of the Land Raider, called the Ares, used in a particularly bad siege, where Vindicators were getting chewed up too easily. Games Workshop published a rulesheet for it on their website. I'd love to have one! Especially in my new codex...

The Prometheus? Really? It's a Crusader, missing 2 twin-linked bolters and a multi-melta, and a radar dish to get the reserves in quicker...

And of course the Ares is more, it's an AV 14 Vindicator with twin-linked heavy flamers and assault cannons, don't forget a dozer blade. It would be one hell of a tough nut to crack!

The Helios only carries 6 models. Then again, it's pretty useless being that it's either an AV14 Whirlwind or an AA tank.

As already started above, the Ares already exists. Built mine a couple of years back, a FW kit would be useful though, the battlecannon was quite a task to fit.

I hope those models will be on display. This phantom titan looks like sex. I like the forgeworld eldar titans, but not the imperial ones. And I say that as an imperial player.

The imperial ones are all like they are in a video game saying "Shoot the exposed pistons, they are the weakspot"

and the eldar ones are all like, "I am a sexy Giant robot, but me instead."

I would love to see me some forgeworld phantom titans.

According to Lexi, the Spartan was a RT era Land Raider that could carry a full squad of 5 Terminators.

The Promethius is pure awesome as a battle tank as it's 36" range AP4 weaponry, shooting 12 twin linked shots, can stay out of charge range. I had to stop playing it in my local club as it massacred any non MEQ army leaving me no chance to learn how to use my other units It's a waste as a transport though

I'd be interested in seeing an updated Ares with Flamestorm cannons instead of Heavy Flamers, but it's probably going to be a DH or Chaos version of an existing variant IMO.

I'd love to see a Plasma-Raider. That would be fun as hell to use.

It's a Rogue Trader Era WD(Issue 119 to be precise) MkI conversion with RT era rules. Not only did it carry 10 Terminators, IIRC, it could also drop them out the back individually as it moved.

Ah. I see. Interesting. Thanks for clearing that up.

We've developed a Land Raider that can carry 10 Terminators/20 Marines in our own rules, but we called it the Land Raider Pandora*.

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

Chances are it might be a variant that will hardly see any use due to odd rules, odd weapon payload or some other design choice that FW makes.

If anyone with the IA apoc 2 book turns to page 34 you can see a heresy era land raider with flamestorm cannons and an assault cannon called the 'Hecate' pattern. It may have been a conversion, it may be replacing the new one coming out.

So I say it'll either be a heresy era LR (like they sell already) but a redeemer version of that or a plasma variant on a heresy chassis.
