Wow. Wouldn't it be awesome to pay only US$12 for that, which is about AUD$12 plus a few more cents. Pity the Aussie price is AUD$22, which at current exchange rates is US$21.xx.

If other products imported from the UK to Oz are not as excessively jacked up as GW products 'seem' or appear to be then you have a point.

Why are these new releases? Aren't these rereleases of very old minis? I remember that chameleon dude from about 12 years ago.

Could be? Those models are so god-awful they are probably from one of the original Lizardmen releases.

Yes, these are releases of old models, like the metal rat ogres, old metal seaguard etc etc etc

lucky for me I bought lots of old lizard stuff off a friend, I have like 5 sets of skink commands now Though I converted my own standard bearers out of the extra banner poles from the plastic stegadon

Here I thought we were getting new models for lizards .. yay for rehashed old stuff

Is GW any more expensive than other imported products coming into Oz? Simple enough? Are GW weighting the cost to the consumer? if they are then it really is a bum deal, if not then its really relative.

£8 is too expensive.
$13.25 is too expensive.
AU$21.50 is too expensive.

All for a re-released tiny bit of metal.

I've got a couple sets of those Command figs. They're pretty bad though compared to the current plastic, so they sit on a shelf collecting dust and I instead converted up some plastic Skinks into Command figs.

I almost like that Chameleon better than the current ones though, simply because he's got the head crest of a Veiled Chameleon rather than the skin things the current ones wear.

The scamps! I was almost fooled into thinking new miniatures there. I really didn't recognised Oyxotl. Regardless, he's a pointless hero choice anyway.

+2 Herpetology points to you sir! Still an ugly set of models to re-release though, especially considering how nice the current skinks are.

These guys already sit in my box of old models. Why would I want to use them with the different sized and much better plastics I replaced them with?

Those are pretty awful. Time to start converting I guess.

So I went into my local GW, lo and behold, some dude is there in a collared shirt with a GW logo. My blackshirt is in hyper-drive so I know something is up. We start chatting, and Mr. Corporate comes out of left field, "So who here plays Lizards?" I admit that I do. "Did you see the new models???" he asks. I have to cock my head at him a bit and reply, "You mean the old models that have been re-released?" No answer. I continue, "Yeah I already have those," and grimace a bit. The conversation dies.

As it turns out this was the trainer for the area.

This is why GW hates vets. He'll go back home to TN and say, "Gee whiz that non-12 year old just right darn knew they warn't new models!" Seriously, delusional. He doesn't realize we could have continued to talk, i.e. him spout his sales pitch, had he not started the conversation with the lie of "new" as the focal point. Or even acknowledged they weren't really new.

If they marketed things a little better, say along a
'here's a rerelease of a golden oldie! Yes, we thought these moulds lost to the ages but recent scrabbling about in the basement of horror here at GWHQ has returned these ancient yet funky minis to the surface once again and we can now offer you...##'

Instead of 'look kiddies, new stuff... honest guv...'

Oh and actually release the minis we have a want for and remember with nostalgia , not the poor sculpts we'd already forgotten...
