What is GW's best looking model ever?

What does dakka think?

I would go with the high elf lord on dragon because I love the details on it's scales and the way it is posed leaping off a rock.

I've never like GW's Dragons. Or most of their large WHFB critters, for that matter.

For some reason this Necromunda Juve (the girl on the left) is still probably my favourite GW model.

The only thing that irks me about this model is how he holds his sword; that straight up angle is really against his movement, and looks oddly stiff. Still a great mini though.

That is his strength... not being in control is against what the Green Knight is...

He deserves special mention really because the sculptor did this one with his left hand, because the right had been blown off by a cannon during a historical enactment demonstration.

At the risk of being gullible... seriously?

I have heard mroe far fetched stories that have turned out to be true...

I just liken this mini to the days when GW did not rule their sculptors with an iron fist...

I know it's not the best model made (or the best pic, but google images dragged it up from dakka!) but it just appeals to me, I have one sitting by my desk painted up as a silver skulls chapter marine. For some reason the model just makes me think bad-assery!

I'm inclined to believe this because I met one of GW's sculptors at GamesDay 2009 and he did have only a left hand-no right hand. I'm not sure if it's the same guy, but one of their sculptors definitely only has one hand.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

It was one of the Perry twins who lost a hand, they are avid historical re-enactment-ers (?). When they did the showcase on the models made by whichever of the Perry twins lost thier hand in WD a while back, the interview contained stuff on how he lost it. It's 100% legit, just google micheal and alan perry (who I think have left GW and now run Perry Miniatures).

Yes, the Perry twins are avid re-enactors, especially concerning the War of the Roses and those things.

From Wikipedia: "They look virtually identical, except that Michael lost part of his right arm in 1996, following an accident loading a reproduction cannon during a re-enactment of the Battle of Crécy in France. This was a very serious injury for a right-handed model sculptor and illustrator, but he learned to sculpt and paint with his left hand."

Or read it here: http://www.ospreypublishing.com/authors/michael_perry/

Or here (see the prosthetic): http://haven.theonering.net/current/gw/profile/twins.html

I like the old Cadian Lieutennant with the beer belly and shotgun for regular sized fig, so much character.

I think the Kharn model is really good too for dynamic pose, proportions, the musculature of his arms and such just so well done. He looks as badass as he acts.

For big figs I like Great Unclean one with the antlers and the big gibby mouth for a belly and an eyeball on his tongue who's guts are stitched in place with what look like giant knitting needles while nurglings are crawling out of his orifices. Lot going on in there, that's hard to beat.

My favorite bigger vehicle is a Chimera they just scream "utilitarian multi-purpose-combat-machine" and have so many little bits and pieces that can be added for flavor.

What would Yeenoghu do?
