In an exceptionally poor year for films, What do you guys think was the absolute worst? My vote is for Skyline, personally.

Oh I don't know, Skyline was crap but so was Sex and the City 2 and don't forget about the dire atrocity which was Legion ! A saint chops off his wings, breaks into an armoury and instead of walking out of the door he came in he blew a cross shaped exit in the side of it! The only good bit was shown in the darned trailer!

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?

I refuse to see any movie without a Robert Downey Junior or a Malcolm McDowell.

Liam Neeson is sometimes needed to save a movie, but not to make it watcheable.

You wouldn't be talking about the failed 3rd trimester abortion that was Clash of The Titans would you? That mass of festering pig intestines was the worst film I've been subjected too in years.

Only one thing made that movie watchable. Skittles....and weed. I suck at math.

As a fan of the Nickelodeon cartoon, I didn't subject myself to the atrocity that would surely ensue by the man who brought you Marky Mark running from murderous bushes.

Seriously that movie made me want to hang myself. It actually pissed me off. The jokes would start off funny enough, but then they would just overkill the joke, and then I felt stupid for laughing at it originally. And why the hell did Sam Jackson/The Rock jump?! I mean WTF?!?!? Really they didnt even have to be in the damn movie at all. Not to mention they didnt need to ruin 2 gorgeous classics in the process.

...urrrr... I dunno

Any movie along the lines of "Scary Movie."

Their idea of comedy - i.e. be as loud and stupid and crass as you like with your jokes, cause that's funny HURR DURR - hurts me. I miss the days of Airplane!, and the true art of parody.

I am making this judgement based solely on films which I have seen so there are undoubtedly worse offerings out there, however, my vote goes to Harry Potter 7 part 1 (carry on camping)

Virtualy the whole film saw the three main characters whingeing in a tent and we still didn't get to see Hermione's golden snitch. Very dissapointing.

Hmmm, I saw Kick Ass the other day and really liked it.

I have no intention of seeing Human Centipede but imagine it's utterly foul. I watched Daybreakers last night and got very angry at it but have just checked and it's an 09 film.

Shutter Island was rancid, Prince of Persia sucked the balls of the fattest genie it could find, Clash of the Titans was utterly soulless.

I would actually recommend 'Despicable Me', I watched it on the plane coming over to the US and it was very good for a kid's film.

AHH...Thanks MGS, Kick ass! yes..That was probably the one film I did see this year that I did actually like (I knew there had to be at least one...I'm not THAT difficult. ).

Completely agree with your assessment of Clash of the Titans, the child inside of me is still crying over that steaming pile of gak.

Frazzled’s list of worthwhile films for 2010
(this list excludes Inception, Paranormal II, Monsters, and Easy A which are scheduled for Weiner Command DVD viewing).

You’ll note most of these are children’s films. Yea the kids movies were better than the regular crap. I count 2010 as a really bad year.
First for adults:
*Black Swan. 1st half meh although intriguing look into the world of ballet dancing. 2nd Half rocks hard in an almost (but much much better) Jacob’s Ladder sort of way.
*Restrepo. Rocks hard.

And here we go, the meat of it:
*Megamind. Very good.
*Despicable Me. Absolutely Despicable.
*How to Train Your Dragon. How 3D is supposed to be done. Lots of choice wordsmithing.
*Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Again good but not epic.
*Predators. A true love story.

Honorable Mention:
*The Lightning Thief. Has the seeds of being a great series if they step it up. Hades as an aging leather pants Rocker was great.
*Sorceror’s Apprentice. As above.
*Kick Ass. Don’t take the kids. Not great but good.

How to train your dragon was absolutely fantastic, amazing little diamond in the rough. Stellar storytelling with no dumbing down.

Tried to watch despicable me but fell asleep in the cinema for the entirety of it, 3d glasses and all. Little sister and Partner reported afterwards that it was awful, and she is 4 and likely the target audience.

Going to have to throw a vote for Clash of the Titans being awful too, I knew it would be, but even then it still managed to dissapoint.

Of the films I've seen, Skyline was the worst without a shadow of a doubt. I agree it's been disappointing year over all. Thank God/Chris Nolan for Inception (although I accept this was not everyone's cup of tea).

@ Frazz.

I agree with your assessment that kids films were better than most films this year.

How to Train your Dragon, which I watched with my two children, was indeed pretty enjoyable, as was Megamind.
Still haven't seen Despicable Me,but will most likely pick it up soon.

But...Predators??...Were we watching the same film?
I considered Predators to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

Disappointing if you were expecting the Predators version of Aliens (which I wasn't), but otherwise fairly watchable in a "I'm glad I waited for the DVD" kind of way.

I waited for the DVD as well, and in all honesty I attempted to view the film as a "stand alone" project,it just didn't do it for me...the concept was interesting, but the execution just left me sort of Meh.

That. Pure popcorn movie. I figured it would be, and it was fine. I think it helps that I saw AVP Requiem not long before. After that, reading mens room graffiti is like high art.

Yea what the hell was that all about? I actually called the video store and asked if they had any complaints on crack copy movies Some parts were so black I too couldnt see anything. That was rather annoying. That movies deserves to have time travel perfected, so we can erase it from history.

Its my understanding Skyline is from the same guys as the aforementioned AVP Requiem. Coincidence? I think not!
