Getting ones testicles caught in a meat grinder isn't as bad as the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Skyline is a Epic Fail. The "graphic novel" at the end is the ultimate letdown. No plot what so ever and no explanations of, well anything.

Of the ones I saw, Clash of the Titans was truly awful. It made no sense at all, just one FX scene after another and they had to keep the FX up or you'd start to think about how stupid it all was.

IIRC,the animated segment was the only part of the whole mess that didn't make me cringe....even as a child, when I first saw it.

Tron 2: The Tronnoning - was OK but nothing more, needed more death frizbie fights and less creepy 'as my father once boned you now too shall I bone you wench' relationships.

Also Tron, the title character, 5 minutes of screen time, no lines, and dies off screen. Maybe.

Youtube, more than likely. George Lucas wants EVERY copy of it nuked into oblivion and all mention of it erased from memory.
Shame he didn't doublecheck the proof copy of the 25 years of lucasfilm coffee table book. SEVERAL LARGE PICTURES and commentary exist in this book, prolonging the agony.

I've got a copy of the Holiday special on vhs. I plan to digitise it so that furhter generations can suffer as I did. Yes, I have no love for children.

Honestly,I'm having a great deal of difficulty thinking of a single film I saw this year that I DID like.

That really reflects more on you than it does on the movies released in 2010.

The Town, Inception, The King's Speach, Toy Story 3, For Her, The Stoning of Soraya M. and Kick Ass were all really good movies.

In most years you get about a half dozen really good films, with True Grit looking like a fine film I'd say 2010 is par for the course.

Avatar, and nearly every movie this year. Horror lost it's novelty, nowadays just stupid paranormal activity and lame stuff for scared middle schoolers to go see.

I really disliked Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Boring, unappealing, crappy 3d (the end sequence had the only good 3d). Felt like a big waste of time to me.

Despicable Me was disappointing, i was hoping it would be better, it felt like there was a really good movie in there. Especially having seen megamind which was really good.

I avoided watching a lot of movies that i expected to be bad. Can i preemptively say Gullivers travels with jack black is going to suck?

And i cant even watch Avatar anymore.

Ooh, good one. That was definitely the worst thing I saw at the movies this year. Absolutely dreadful.

So you stopped watching movies in 1941?

No, but every time I see a new prequel, it's all the same tired cliches, same character models and formulaic plots. I do watch movies, but I don't derive much other than empty entertainment. Once and a while there is one that does throw off convention, and I wait till it hits cable before I watch.

I don't need to hand over $9 to see a damn movie. Sure I pay for cable, but it covers internet and phone as well.

One recent movie i would highly recommend (if you haven't seen it already) is Inception.

My point is that Hollywood hasn't run out of new ideas. It never had any. Nothing particularly wrong with Hollywood in this regard, most every story, whatever the source, is recycled.

It's cool if movies aren't doing much for you, but it isn't because of any changes with the industry.

There have been approx 640 major movies released this year, of which there are only 9 movies left to be released. I don't think this was too soon, no.

I didn't know that Jack Black movie even existed, though. It does look like a contender.

OK, here are my personal 10 picks for worst movies of 2010. I've only picked movies I have actually seen. Not in any special order.

The A-Team
I knew this would be dumb, but hoped it would be dumb fun. It wasn't.

Nightmare on Elm Street

Terribly executed. Freddy had absolutely zero sense of menace or dread.

Skyline
Probably the worst movie of the year. Like Independence Day, but without any of the fun parts, the motivations, character development, character motivation, or end.

Macgruber

Only could get through about 30 minutes of this.

Black Swan
Another Darren Aronofsky turd bomb. If you liked The Fountain, you'd like this. Requiem for a Dram, this wasn't.

Human Centipede
Almost certainly my personal number one "movie that should not have been made".

Monsters
Hyped like an independent District 9, the only similarity is reasonable well done effects. Had no interesting characters. I didn't care if they lived or died, at all.

The Expendables
Lame. Dumb. Loud.

Iron Man 2
How far the franchise has fallen by the second movie. The first was a good story well executed. This is a 2 hour toy commercial.

Alice in Wonderland

Very boring. I actually fell asleep for most of it.

I really liked A-team. It was funny, i liked all the characters, the main bad guy was a real night owl.
Was transformers 2 this year? if so it is by far the worst movie i watched this year. i liked the 1st one. Number 2 took all the things i didnt like about no 1 (racist/stupid robots, focus on the wrong characters, childish humour, cringe worthy transformer dialogue) and made that the core of the movie.
Iron man 2 wasnt very good. but the final battle ticked all my buttons, it was like RIFTS come to life. The preceding 2 hours werent much chop though.
