These are my Space Marines. I've been painting for a little over two years with just Marines to work on until I started my necron army who have their own project thread.
These guys aren't anywhere near as good looking as I'd like, but this thread is to motivate myself to keep going (with some paint stripping in some cases) rather than abandoning them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Organisation
1st Company – Veterans
2nd Company – Seige Specialists (tactical orientated)
3rd Company – Crusade Company (assault orientated)
4th to [9th] Companies – Battle Companies
10th Company – Scout Company
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, on with the models. To start with, my two full Tactical Squads - I have another part built and have had more but over-enthusiam with re-converting and paint stripping managed to damage too many of them to re-use.
Next is my Deathwatch Squad who were a little light distraction from red armour :p
****Updated Paint Job****
Most Red Jackal forces are backed up by a squad of Veterans, in this case a demi-squad of Terminators.
The shoulderpads are from MaxMini, the heads are normal terminator heads with the snout cut down except for the Sargeants who a MkIV Forgeworld Helmet
The Dreadnought on the left was previously a Dark Angels Dreadnought that I've Kitbashed.
And no army is complete without someone to lead it. From left to right we have:
Plastic Librarian, Plastic Chaplain, Plastic Chapter Master, Plastic Captain, Another Plastic Librarian, and a slightly converted Apothecary.
Here's my two Predators, with Leman Russ Sponsons:
Vindicators - One started off life as a Looted Tank, and the other was once a Predator:
And a Kitbashed Whirlwind using the rocket pods from the Valkyrie kit (counts as Hyperios in Apoc):
That's it for now, although I'm working on some Sternguard at the moment

Just a quick update really to keep myself going! I'm going to be stripping down my older Sternguard, remodelling a couple of them, and fitting them in with the 5 I have just done:

I did realise today that I haven't painted the belt on my new Sternguard Sarg, so I'll get a new pic up once the new guys are done

Here's a pair of my new Sternguard, including a stripped and improved Heavy Flamer - it's still not quite as good as I'd like, his right forearm is too long etc. but it's better than the last one. Hopefully I'll get them painted up soon
EDIT: See a couple of posts above for painted versions!

Some nice ideas here I'd be tempted to suggest going further with the Sternguards guns theres a good tutorial somewhere on here about using Stormbolter mag clips to make them more obvious.

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Here's my latest project, a "Counts As" Lysander
It's my first go at re-positioning a pair of legs, and apart from looking a little "demure" and the joint details being crude I'm quite happy with the results The legs were originally the Dark Angel termie legs as that's what I had handy, but I did find out during this that there is a mould error on this part which I had to rectify.
I'm currently waiting for a storm shield to come through the post, and I'm considering getting a cloak.

With the fluff; the Deathwatch choose who to use, chapters can't just send off marines to them. These are pretty good. Theres some nice conversions your red, however, looks a little flat. It has a kind of ruddy look that doesn't quite work for me...that may be what you are going for though...

I actually knicked that idea from GW, I think it's in the Index Astartes. After the Battle for Macragge, Marneus Calgar sends most of their green recruits to the Deathwatch to get trained up against a variety of enemies. I think you're partly right though, the Deathwatch has to accept that the chapter is good enough to be able to select Marines from first, and then be willing to take the individual recruits.
My housemate keeps moaning at me for my red being dull and flat, especially on the older models that don't have a coat of Blood Red over the top (such as my Termies) but for now I'm happy with it

After a couple of very successful games, including tabling an unfortunate Dark Eldar force, I decided to treat my Terminator squad to a better looking sergeant made from parts of the original - in the end I could only save the legs!

Been a while since my last update, or it seems that way! I'm much happier with this Laz- Plas razorback as I've managed to keep more of the piping from the plasma cannon And the first stage of what I hope will be my first true conversion:

Like those scouts. Where are they from? I'm currently working on my own scout blog and have been trying to change them up as much as possible so its good to see how other people are going about it.
Looking at them again i think i see cadian legs and arms. Are the heads from Westwind? I think i've seen those torsos before but i cant remember where from. Good effort anyway. Would be good to see them in a pic with the marines to see how they fit in

It's Liche purple, sometimes with a Hormagaunt undercoat, and I've recently been putting a Badab Black wash over the top to dull down the shine a little.

They have Catachan legs* with the belt cut off, Cadian command arms with a little milliput at the shoulders to give a more dynamic look, and Maxmini torsos and heads. The heavy bolter is a standard scout one with the biceps cut off and muscles filed down a little to look like folds of fabric.
I'm sure you can tell I'm not that experienced with faces, but I'm reasonably happy with them. They're meant to have a more Olive complexion than normal.
They're not meant to fit in perfectly with the Marines; the fluff for my Scouts is that they're an Auxilia, not true Space Marines, but I'll do a group shot soon so hopefully so you'll get to see how they fit in
*Cadian legs have the bottom of their coat on so aren't suitable.
