I've always pronounced it tee-ran-id, but I think both are interchangeable for conversation.

Tomatoo, tomato.

Ti - ra - nid, for my money.
Tie - ra - nid is fairly common. Can't say I've ever heard anyone say say it with a Tee, but there you go.

Uh, there was a bit in an old article discussing Tyranids and it said something along the lines of"Tyranids aren't bugs, that's just what Imperial Guardsmen call them. In fact dinosaurs were our main inspiration more than anything with our latest range (3rd edition)...blah blah blah...its pronounced like you would Tyranisaurous". So yeah, they were first enocunted officially on the world of Tyran (Tie-ran) so should be pronounced "Tie-ran-ids", at least according to the previous developers of the range. =P

Well a poll doesn't give a definitive answer (just opinion) if that is what the OP is looking for.

There was an almost identical thread to this not long ago where basically the majority said 'Teer-ran-id' and the slight minority (including myself) said 'Tie-ran-id'.

Ultimately though, no-one provided any proof and until someone does it's just opinion I guess...

I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Thats how I have always pronounced all those words my whole life lol. Except more of a "Tie ran ical" for me

I don' like it when people pronounce Tzeench "TUH za nench" and I hear "Zeeeeench" a lot too. or they pronounce C'tan as the "see tan"

its "Zench" like if you were saying "stench" but you replace the "ST" with a "Z" and lets see if I can make this translate good lol "kuh tan"

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood.
