These models look bloody fantastic, and I really (REALLY) hate to be this guy...but isn't $300 a bit much for something that's considerably smaller than a Forge World Warhound (especially when you consider the Warhound is only a bit more expensive)?

Also, what is it made of? It looks like plastic...and if that is the case, then the price is even more mind-boggling.

Like I said, the models are blooody fantastic, though. I love the Crusader. It would make an excellent centerpiece for a Grey Knights army.

smaller than a warhound? Try again buddy.... Its shorter by about an inch, hardly 'smaller' and definitely too big to be a knight.

yeah, your right

I'd rather have a thick, bulky, square FW warhound with half the rivits and surfaces needing to be extensively greenstuffed rather than this 100+ piece model of awesome.
oh and the warhound doesn't come with arms, and costs more.

no thanks

Ha!

Wait until Platuan4th shows up and...er...what?

It is in his sig now?

Good times!

Knight do rock though, and I wish GW/FW would officially release them!

Until then, we'll have to rely on other companies to help us out - though as noted, these would better serve as 'counts as' Warhounds!

Hmmm...not sure about that...as I understand it the top is the Crusader model, the bottom is the Mortis. The Mortis is lighter/less armored by design.

Thanks for the kind words!
No doubt about it Darth.. its expensive. Too expensive? You need to be the judge of that. A Warhound runs $506.29 with both weapons.
A while back I published an article on my blog explaining the costs involved.

http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/2010/11/i-am-great-and-powerful-oz.html

This is not a six piece model with six molds.. this is a 8.5 to 9.5" fully posable model with 136 parts (its a project to be sure).

Thanks everyone! I look forward to the sales and making many more models in the future.

All the best,
Mark-

Which brings the question...are we going to have to drill and pin the hell out of this thing?

and another question...what is US shipping gonna be?

Woohoo, YES! Can't wait to get this thing!

+1 to seeing if you've finished arms for both sides. Meaning, can I have the Crusader with left and right gatling cannons, or left and right power fists?

Im thinking Id like one with the gatling gun and fist. The Crusader is extremely cool, but...Im really going back and forth on it. There are several issues/concerns I have.

The most important...how much pinning is going to be involved...Im not at all interested in something thats going to need all the joints pinned...especially on a model that complex. I dont mind a bit of a project, but I dont want something thats gonna take 6 months to build.

Between the wait before preorders and the 2 months (or more) wait listed on the blog it means we wont have a model in hand until almost June.

However, if I dont get in on it now I wont have the money to until this time next year...and who knows if they will still be in production by then...

I only pinned the spine section.. The rest had no pins. take a look at the instructions and you will see what I did.
I hate pins as well... there are a couple of areas I used a "cheater pin" roughen up or drill surface and use two part epoxy glue.

Using the right glue is very important as well.... do NOT use standard old super glue. Use something that has a rubber binder so that it not as brittle. Gorilla super glue is a good option. All that is covered in the instructions.
http://www.dreamforge-games.com/Leviathan%20Mortis%20Complete%20Instructions.pdf

I put together the display model in about 3-4 hours. It must be said, this is not a build best suited for the first time builder, you should have some model experience with either plastic or resin models.

Shipping is dependant on your location and what you choose.... one example is, USPS Prioirity flat rate at about $11.00 or $14.00 insured (plan on this $$ and you will be safe) Canada will be about $28.00 to $31.00. Overseas $45.00-$48.00.

Sweet, thats all I needed to know. Skill isnt the issue for me...Ive been modeling for almost 20 years. Whats the best place to watch for the pre order go...here or the blog?

Even better when it gets time maybe a day or two warning...such as "pre orders open at __ date at __ time...heres the link".

That would be awesome for those of us who cant check mail/web any anytime or place. For instance...I work all night w no internet access, and I sleep most of the mid day hours.

Guys,

You wont be sorry about the purchase. I know the kind of resin and molding that Nosegoblin is using, the manufacturer is aces and I think once the molds are up and going there wont be much or a wait for these to be shipped once ordered.

Its good quality resin, not like that super-brittle stuff Forgeworld uses.

You and me both. I know I'd at least buy a full 10 Knight Household, even if it was FW.

That said, people need to buy these. We need to support the little fish. More variety and options is a good thing.

That Mortis is begging to be Nurglefied. 275 isn't bad either, on par with Titan costs. Looking forward to when you start casting this bad boy up!
