Just to clarify Topps owns the rights to Battletech and licenses the rights to Catalyst Game Labs and Iron Wind Metals.
Harmony Gold was involved in the lawsuit with FASA Corporation over the Robotech `Mech designs but otherwise has no affiliation with the Battletech license.

2 queries;
1) You do realize that an opinion can be rude and/or offensive, right? That these are not mutually exclusive states? Perhaps not...
2) Why did you go out of your way to link your website in your second post, when your website hasn't been updated in like 20 months?
Beyond that, it's simultaneously amusing and must be intensely frustrating to read a comment like the first one, but emblematic of a problem in "the hobby" as a whole: the incessant comparison to GW staples. What's amusing is that right now GW is clearly feeling it's litigation oats, as it were, so the notion that it behooves anyone to move into things that are expressly "a GW... knock-off" is somewhat mind boggling.
It's frustrating because at the same time that people seem to have this insatiable need for not- GW GW-style stuff, there are those of us that are sick of the whole aesthetic.
Personally, I find the work fantastic; with enough Grimdark to fit into many systems, but at the same time expressing (to me) far more elegant and "realistic" feel.

I agree with this...
I am more a modeller and hobbyist than a gamer...
I would love to paint a few of these for the simple enjoyment of what these fantastic sculpts could offer in terms of size and dimensions.
Not everything needs to relate back to GW or a game system. Though, when you think about it, if you cannot walk outside or look at something and NOT relate it to GW or similar, you may have a problem.

I did find his need for things to be GW compatible pretty sad though...shame so many people see GW as the end all be all of gaming.

I dont like the Mortis much at all. The body is good, though I do like the heavier armored versions better. Its just the head that turns me off.
However, I will be ordering a Crusader, waiting anxiously for preorders...possibly some of the others as well if finances allow. Automatically Appended Next Post: AvatarForm wrote:

I just got off the phone with my contract caster, they are finishing the molds and expect to be done Friday the 25th and shipping the first articles to me on Monday. Add 3-4 days shipping time and mid/late next week I will have them in hand and post pics.
The up side, according to the owner, is that mold maker is enamored with the kit and is making some of the best mold work he has seen to date. Fingers crossed they should be some excellent castings! That was music to my ears... I am very happy that the extra time is well spent. I would rather it be slightly delayed than get back crap castings.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for chiming in on recent comments; I try not to be bogged down with non-constructive comments and exchanges that serve no purpose other than to enflame.

Lol.. seems to be the way it goes, good and bad news.
Just to set the expectation correctly, I will likely not be posting pics and opening pre-orders until April 4th, give or take a day. I have A LOT to do in between and even that date may change if there are issues with the castings. I know your chomping at the bit to finally get going but I need to make sure the horse is hitched to the cart before it starts running.

Im not going to be doing a GK army, but Im planning to get a box of GKT for some mild conversions, and ive already been thinking they will look great standing at the feet of a Crusader. Which will likely be standing in my display case next to the 28mm Battletech Atlas. I would put the Madcat on the same shelf, butt hey are glass and only hold 13 lbs...those 3 big boys might push that limit all together. Automatically Appended Next Post: NoseGoblin wrote:

Please dont take it as complaining...its just barely contained excitement. Its been a long time since anything has blown me away like this thing does. From what you say the actual model should live up to or maybe even exceed the renders. The biggest challenge will be coming up with a paint scheme and executing it well enough to do the thing justice.

Yes, it hasn't changed at all- we still do not like condescending, uninformed remarks. And you will still get flack for them even if you add " IMO" or "just kidding" to them.
Constructive criticism is one thing, your comments are another.
As to *mediocre*, the design is quite well done and we will have to see on quality. But, given Forgeworld's production on its large kits, I find it hard to believe it could be much worse and the price is certainly much better.

So, like, say someone wanted to count your mortis as a chaos warhound... Are they're at least similar in height ... does it have guns available at all, or just the scythe & claw arms? If so, will the guns look similar enough to GW's versions to count as something believable?

He's right, I'd rather have a $500 titan made from 12 huge, poorly made peices than a couple hundred part, more detailed kit for half the price.
I just like throwing money at GW so they can open more poorly managed stores!

Just caught that, went back and reread some stuff.. guess the weapons are all interchangable .. I like the idea of an assault titan but it would prolly just get blown to bitz before it got close enough to anything though :(
At one point I was considering a reaver with claws, but I don't want to blow $800 on one model that I will prolly never ever play with anyway. So the mortis is looking more like something I'd get, never was a big fan of the warhound model.

So I'm definitely looking really hard at the Crusader. The big sell for me, however, would be more weapon options and the capacitor coolers (especially these) to replace the oil stacks. How far down the line will it be before we see these? I'd love to buy the Crusader, but I'd really like those capacitor coolers on his back.
That, of course, doesn't mean I'm above buying the model now and waiting a few months to add all of the bits!

No your not customs like large box's. I've found that anything in a large size box gets stopped at customs while smaller packages sail through with no problems.
