Hey guys, I think I just made a huuuuge mistake... Anyway, when I bought my Green Stuff yesterday I had no idea what the blue was for and just thought it was plastic so I used the green and started sculpting. Anyway, now that i've made my Terminator Lord and a couple of Marines very dirty with Green Stuff I decided to check how long it takes before it dries and now I found out that you're supposed to mix the green with the blue! What the

So, did I just ruin my Terminator Lord and 3 Marines? Will it ever dry if I just use the green or do you guys have any tips on how to remove all my Green Stuff?

Edit; I used my Green Stuff yesterday by the way, if that's any good information to help you guys solve my problem.

SImple mistake really, I didn't realise what i was really for and and used large amounts sticking rocks together which I never used in games. It wont ever dry, but you may be able to get a far bit off with a toothbrush, and the aid of some water. Good luck with it!

Simple Green seems to separate Greenstuff easily. I bought a converted model online and when I tried to strip it all of the GS conversions just slipped right off.

Also, doesnt Green Stuff come in strips of Yellow and Blue? It only turns green after you mix the two.

No offense, but when something is called green stuff and is packaged as a strip of blue stuff and a strip of yellow stuff, should be kind of obvious what you need to do. Sorry, but I do find this rather amusing, but I do understand it must be very frustrating. Winnertakesall is correct, it will not cure, but nothing has been ruined, you've just wasted alot of time and effort. And for future reference, use a test model first, whenever trying ANYTHING new you should use a test model, next time it could be an irreversible mistake you make.

not exactly. I've successfully removed greenstuff alot before. Again, Simple Green. That stuff is like a divine eraser!

To be honest, that Green Stuff mix seems to be green and blue. Or? Otherwise i'm colorblind!

I mean look at this, it's green and blue!

It's Greeny-Yellow and Blue. Perhaps read some instructions first next time? Use toothpicks and an old toothbrush, under running water and go to town. I can't vouch for Simple Green, but if that helps, try that too.

The ones I saw in stores are usually bright yellow and blue. The pic might have been refracting light from the blue packaging, and they might have changed up the formula a bit.

I concur with Mecha:

Buy "simple green" or "super clean"; its a cleaning agent. Pour it into a plastic container and then toss your models in. Let stand for a week. The green stuff will peel off and float to the top. Done this myself on several occasions.

Get a nice bowl of soapy water.
hold the model under the water.
Brush it with a tooth brush.

Comes off pretty easy that way.
I use it to remove GS ive applied but not glued.
Also, its yellow and blue
Not to mention its a 2 part putty.

Ive been using it for a fair few years and im yet to see a green strip in it.

also, just a quick thought here.

If you thought the blue was plastic and the yellow (green) was the green stuff, did it not come up that it would have cured long ago?
Or needed something to make it cure?

The Greenstuff is packaged in plastic shrink wrap, so he might have thought it was air-dried. Some compounds are like that (although they tend to have ways of softening them again at a later time).

The GW one he linked to isnt shrink wrapped.
It has a plastic coating on the top and bottom, thats it

If its not cured then you should be able to just get it warm, then roll a ball of the blue and start using the rolled ball to pull the yellow off the models, like tac on tac.

Should be no reason to waste it all by scrubbing.

Shrink wrap is made of plastic and it's air-tight Plus the entire thing is wrapped, not just at the tips.

The stuff GW sells is not shrink wrapped, as he said. It's got a plastic slip on the top and bottom, but the sides are open to the air in the package. The plastic is purely to prevent it from sticking to the cardboard of the blister itself (or the plastic of the blister). And before we go there...the blister itself is most certainly not air tight.

Shrink wrap is basically putting something in a plastic pouch, sucking out all the air, then sealing it shut around it.

The greenstuff I bought was shrink wrapped from top to bottom. The stuff sticks to whatever it touches, so I assume GW took the same precautions.

You are probably color blind to that particular shade of yellow. My dad does the same thing with certain shades of red and green.

I can't see it and sometimes confuse certain greens and yellows, along with colors with a lot of red and green in them as well.
