Anyone else watch this show? I love it, I just wish there were some decent restaurants in San Antonio like the ones on the show.

I can't figuer out how the host isn't like 300 pounds. He must run to each location.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

He eats a very strict diet in between binges and works out. He doesn't pig out everyday.

I think the most I've ever eaten at once is maybe 3 LBs of food.

Last big thing I had was a quadruple meat burger at Whataburger with 4 slices of cheese. It's about 1 pound of beef and a 1/2 pound of others. I put it down in under 10 minutes and had room for more.

Did they ever fit that into a show or was it in like commentary on a dvd? I've only seen about 4 or 5 full episodes.

The whooping annoys me, but its a funny show.

That guy is great with spicy gak!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

I used to watch it, mainly because Adam is fething hilarious. But I started eating healthy and exercising and now I see him eat all that food, it just makes me nauseous

I enjoy it from time to time. I like the some of the other shows like Drive-ins, Diners and Dives a little better as I've found a few nifty places around me from them, including a 5 star restaurant in a gas station It just screams novelty.

Along the lines of KC, I've started eating more healthy and I find I no longer crave meat that often, or when I cook with it, it's only just as important to the flavor of the dish as and of the veggies or spices involved. I tried to go veggie briefly before and failed miserably, but in allowing myself to balance out I've actually found balance it seems. Tomato soup and cheese bread ftw, however.

Great show! My family enjoys it a lot. Not so much the pig-out parts but the exploration of all the local restaurants that takes place before the challenge.

Runnin up on ya.

I think he visited San Antonio..

Yep, found it:

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Aside from the gluttony, it appears to be quite an informative show...

Why do things need to be taken to the extreme to receive airtime these days?

The place he went to in San Antonio is disgusting and has gone seriously downhill in recent years.

I have watched the show, and find it lightly entertaining. I am not into the food feats he does where quantity is the challenge, I prefer things like the hot wing challenge. It looked excruciating even if you like hot foods.

A friend of mine who is a big guy and can eat lots ate at a local burger stand challenge. They have a huge burger, burger, cheese, bacon, ham, repeat, repeat, pile of fries and a large drink. Record was like 45 minutes, you have an hour to do it. My friend did it in 21 minutes, on the way out he waved to them and said "See you tomorrow". Outside he admitted he was waaay full and will not be seeing them tomorrow. I am sure Adam from man versus food would whomp that challenge as well.

Epic mealtime, this is the turkey day one, they make a GIANT burrito that dwarfs anything Adam has challenged. To be fair, they have groups of people eat, not just one.

I watched it when it was on and do every now and then. Fun show, and some things really make your mouth water.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I don't think anyone actually eats those meals form epic meal-time.

Man vs Food is weak.

Get on YouTube, and search EpicMealTime.

It's infinetly funnier, with some really huge meals. I think their current record is 100,000 calories, and god knows how many units of alcohol.

I've only reccently discovered this show, that and the blond fella with a goatee who visit's resturants around the US. (He does another show called Big Bite I think.)

Certainly opened my eyes to some places I wouldn't mind visiting if I ever get stateside for a break.

Guy Fieri is awesome, would rather watch his shows than Man Vs Food. While both are good in their own right Guy's shows actually make me want to head over to the US to try some of the places!

Chopped and Iron Chef (both versions) are also good, and you can't hate on Julia Child.

But yeah, Bourdain is awesom. I would kill for his life.

Agree with both posters but for some reason I enjoy Gordon Ramsey as well, maybe I find it funny seeing a short-tempered British man swear at average Americans.

So anyone else picking up the $650 cookbook Modernist Cuisine? I think you can get it on amazon for just under $500.

Here is the 30 hour Cheeseburger:

Mushroom Swiss burger

From top to bottom: seeded bun, beef suet glaze, grilled maitake mushroom, smoked lettuce, compressed heirloom tomato, gruyere cheese slice, sous vide cooked and cryo fried patty, mushroom ketchup.

Question we had to ask - Can we get the recipe?

Max from Modernist Cuisine: No. The recipe is too long to reprint here, but the hamburger patty is cooked sous vide at 54C, dunked in liquid nitrogen and deep fried. The cheese slice is constructed from Gruyere cheese, Comte cheese and wheat beer using sodium citrate as an emulsifying salt. The lettuce is vacuum-infused with smoked flavored water. Our mushroom ketchup is thickened with freeze-dried shiitakes to give greater depth of flavor without diluting the mixture.

Crazy fact: This recipe takes 30 hours, including 3 hours of active prep.

The recipe for that isn't in the book, but it is to cool not to post.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
