Although this goes against my Imperial preferences I have decided to convert a Shadowsword to make it Orky

The main reason is that I reckon it could be a good challenge to do since Ive never done anything Orky...also I picked one up off ebay for a decent price....but it was a complete mess
Also no tracks and some other parts a mess so i reckon that it would be nigh on impossible to make this passable as an Imperial Superheavy.....as an Ork vehicle however it ticks all the boxes

Ill post some pics of what I have soon. In the meantime if anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be much appreciated Waaaaagh!!!

Shall it stay a tracked vehicle?

I like the idea and it looks like that all that shadowsword is good for.

Good luck with your project!

I was thinking about that but i reckon I will keep it tracked
I could make some tracks with plasticard I reckon....obviously not even tracks. Ill make them suitably Ork like

Thanks mate
Yeah I thought I might have been able to restore it to a decent state but after taking it apart it looks like it wont really happen
always wanted to do a Kustom Ork vehicle so thought now is my chance

Well while I am waiting for my plasticard I have decided to write some background as to how the Orks found the Shadowsword
Was a bit bored at work so wrote this up

A small green figure sprints into the recently raised Ork camp and heads straight for the Boss’s tent. Sneaking in, he stands next to Warboss Blaktoof’s bed and leaning close, he tries to wake his boss without being on the receiving end of a huge fist to his small face.

“Boss.

Boss.

Boss.

Boss.”

Then is quick succession
“boss boss boss boss boss boss boss boss”

One of Blaktoof’s baleful red eyes slowly opens and a deep rumble escapes from his mighty chest
“Whaa!!!! Wot??
Zog off before I smash your ead in. I is sleeping.”

“But boss. I as found someting. Someting big” exclaims the small green figure in a shrill voice

“Wot as yoo found ya runt?” asks Blaktoof
“It betta be good or I is going ta feed ya to da squigs”

“Boss I as found a big piece of loot boss. Da umies must av left it behind” explains the figure

“Show me Wazblak. Dis betta be wurf it”

“Bogzag!!! Bring da truck round!!!” roared Blaktoof. “And get dat Mekboy, Skabnut, to come wif”

A few seconds later Bogzag pulls up, tyres sliding in the dirt as he brings the trukk to a halt.
“Where to Boss?” asks Bogzag, eyes blinking through his driving goggles

“Over dat way” shouts Wazblak in his whinny Gretchin voice, pointing north.

Blaktoof backhands Wazblak sending him bouncing along the dirt.
“I is da boss and I says which way we must goes. We goes dat way” orders Blaktoof pointing north.

After 30 minutes speeding along the barren landscape northwards, Blaktoof spots a dark shape staining the landscape in the distance

“Dats it boss” screeches Wazblak with glee.

Bogzag guides the truck towards the object and skids to a halt in front of the vast piece of rusted metal.

“Dis looks good. Dis wuld make a nice new battlewagon.” exclaims Blaktoof, jumping off the truck to examine the hulking metal wreck.
“Dis is an old umie wagon. Wot type was it I wonderz?
Skabnut do yoo knows wot type it was?”

“Yes boss” replies the Mekboy. “I tink dis waz one of dose big ummie wagonz. Dey call dem da shadeswordz or summing like dat.
Must ave been ere since we ad dis planet from dem all dose years ago”

“ Kan ya fix it and make da kannonz work?” asks Blaktoof. “Da more dakka da betta”

“No worries boss. Its as good as dun” replies Skabnut with a toothy Orky grin. “Dis will be fun”

A wicked grin spreads across Blaktoofs face while pretending he is manning a monstrous cannon. “Yes dis will be fun.”

Update Time

Getting There

Great Games Workshop quality. Clipping plastic only and this is what happened
Will have to get a new set

Below are pics of what i think im going to go for. Completely changed the look and height of the Shadowsword and reduced the barrel to make it more like a Super Demolisher cannon
Not set yet. Used blue tack to see how it will look.
Obviously the side and everything else will be filled in with various bitz once ive decided

Let me know any thoughts

Ive also added some pics of an Emperors Champion that i had to finish some work on

On the topic of making an Imperial super heavy tank Orky... well, I'll gladly watch what will you do with it, since its owner was not exactly too kind to it. On the topic of clippers, I'd say you should find yourself a better pair. My wife, a craftswoman extraordinaire, swears by "proper" tools used for making jewelry. Gave me a pair of German side cutters made by Antilope - pricey, but virtually indestructible. Tamiya aren't too shabby either, but... well, they cost as much as jeweler's tools, and the difference in quality shows (at least the pair I could examine once was far below my expectations).

Hmm... orky super heavy huh? This is pretty exciting, as is anything that is big and goes forward and "BOOM"!

I'm not seeing too much ork yet, but I know you're in the first stages of this mammoth conversion. I like what you've done to is so far. I might suggest replacing one side of the front cabin with a boarding plank... something that could reach over a deff-rolla perhaps

haha my thoughts exactly ...I got it off ebay but it was so badly done that Orky was the only way to go

By one side of the front cabin, which part do you mean? And what sort of boarding ramp mate?
I was actually thinking of putting a Deff Rolla on so keep watching this space

No joke... I got one in a trade years ago. i was going to make terrain out of it.
When the Ork Dex came out, I decided to loot it.
Sadly, it's taken a back burner and sits on my shelf unfinished. I did do one thing that might help you.

I went to Walmart and bought a couple toys with huge wheels that fit into the openings for the tank tracks. Mine is now a monster truck/tank.

Hmm... in fact, I think I still have some images on p-bucket...

What do you have handy?
Do you have any GW (new) Trukks? The arm from the Wrecking Ball might be able to be converted to work, if you've got one for each side.
What about plasticard, rod, etc? Any of that?

None of that Im afraid.
I have some plasticard so might end up having to try and build some.

Was looking for anything that might fit the bill. Any household items really would be better....hmmm ..... ill have to look around a bit more

You also might be able to make the arms from grabbin Klaws work.

If you don't have the bits yourself, try a post in the Swap Shop here or in the Bits forum on Bartertown. Heck, on BTown, you might even find someone who will just *give* them to you. We've got a whole big "pay it forward" thing going over there.
