Some freinds of mine and I are having a competition to see who can make the best "big mek santa"

i need help
my ideas so far are: the sleigh/slay is pulled by red and green squigs with rockets strapped to their backs, a sack full of shootas, and santa will have a klaw oh and will be some gretchin elves too.
any ideas would be appreciated

Use a looted Land Speeder, or some other skimmer to be the "sleigh". You could possibly use some of the Boars from Fantasy Orcs to pull it.
I like the idea of Gretchin Elves, perhaps also have one hanging off the side, as if he was falling....

Sounds like a solid idea, here's a couple ideas to up the orkification factor:
- give the squigs crude fake antlers
- give one of the squigs a fake red nose, maybe a grenade painted red
- add rocket thrusters to the back of the sleigh
- have on of the gretchin elves flying off the sleigh and into the rocket thruster flames

You should be able to make the cookies very easily with greenstuff, as for the bottle this may do:

Again, fairly easy to do, although can be a little tricky, especially for smaller mushrooms. I put mushrooms onto my nurlge obliterators, which are as of yet un-finished. I am by a clear margin good with greenstuff, but I think they turned out ok.

I've seen this idea done a couple of times, can't remember where, and alas can't find any images on the interwebs.

Small mushrooms are easy, just use pinheads, keeping a short length of shaft.

Flying squigs could be a pain to model unless you're an experienced sculptor, and also everyone's likely to have the same idea. Instead, maybe build some flying robo-deer to pull the sleigh? Or a line of jerry-rigged looted jump packs and Tau drones? Or flying captive creatures, e.g. gargoyles or vespid?

I say he needs two klaws, he is santa klaws, and i think it would be hilarious to have one klaw with reins and the other with a kookie delicately pinched between them. Maybe even position his head so that it looks like hes trying to put it in his mouth with hurting himself on the claw, maybe a green stuffed jaw like hes opening wide for it.

use a SM land storm cut a gap on the back for the sleigh have gretchins hanging on the back and have some looted tyranid gargoyle to pull the sleigh.

in the true spirit of all things orky i think i will have a mix of things (what big mek is gonna wait for the next tau assault when space marines are coming rround the corner)

so maybe 2 gargyoles 2 drones 3 rocket squigs 1 vespid and 1 robo deer (rudolph )

Amusingly enough, Big Meks are the only unit in the Ork codex that actually are allowed to have two powerklaws. Give 'im Mega Armour (to carry the toyz) and an extra Power Klaw. Two klaws.

I think a few of the ideas already tossed out could be successfully combined. I'd like to see a Landspeeder Storm (want the extra room to model all the helpers and cargo) pulled by rokkit squigs, robo-deer, etc. Model reigns attached to the harness, but flapping around wildly in the wind, as Santa Klaws' non-klaw hand is busy holding a big, frothy mug of fungus beer. Since fungus beer isn't as festive without some mushroom-covered cookies, have an elf-grot holding up a plate stacked with them, for him (there's an ammo runt model holding a heavy load over his head just begging for conversion).

Man, I really wish I had some kits (and more bits) lying around. I've considered making a 40K or(k)nament, before, but now I want to make a whole diorama!

only problem with the fungus beer idea is he hasnt got a non klaw hand he has TWO KLAWS WAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

I'm late to the party here... lots of great ideas already put forward too. I did have one thought... assuming that you want the big mek to have "the" piece of war gear that no big mek should be without (KFF). You could make the antlers on the squigs (or whatever) to be the thingies that generate the KFF and then wire them from squig to squig back to the mek (perhaps having the main power supply on the tail of the sleigh. You could add all kinds of little orky/christmassy decorations to the wires connecting the "antlers" together.

Well actually this easter I am making something kinda like you, but with khorne worshipping easter chicks being purged by dark angels.

What about for the reigns have a grot holding on to them but have the grot being tossed around. Because lets face it, any thing pulled by squigs, robodeer, rocket packs and gork knows what else is gonna be one unsteady ride.
Also the idea of Santa Klawz daintly eating a fungus cookie is just great and as for the present gun what about some form of converted Shock attack gun?
