Hey everybody just think what everybody thinks about these 2 chapters i vote black templars because they just slaughter everthing they see . And i had a game yesterday and it was a draw

Ok lets hear what you think.

BT don't kill everything they see otherwise they would all be dead by now.
In terms of fluff i prefer BT over GK (Even before the new codex) mainly because they were so well done.
In terms of game i prefer GK.
In terms of looks i have mixed feelings but GK win overall.

Black Templars, Because they prove you can never have too many Astrates in one chapter!

BT, because gk are stuck whay to far up there own -ing backsides.

I dont bear any ill will towards Grey Knights, they have a cool concept and look, but I definitely find the Black Templars' aesthetic is cooler.

Yep my feelings of the Black templars are like this.

Grey Knights, ignoring Matt Ward's terrible writing. They have roughly equal numbers, and are on the Inquisition's leash, rather than working to their own treasonous ends. Conceptually they're more what Space Marines should be: soldiers with a narrow, unique focus which they fulfill, and who are subordinate to proper Imperial authority, rather than being left to manage itself and run amok.

I can't stand the Black Templars.
I've hated them since they first popped up in 3rd.

I'm an OG Black Templar's hater. At this point my hate knows no reason and cannot be argued with so I won't even bother stating why i think they are the most lame chapter imaginable. I'd take the Rainbow Warriors over them... so the Grey knights are a no brainer to me.

Black Templar are the most metal of all space marines (yes, even more metal than Space Wolves), but Grey Knights are the most elite. I like both because they both evoke the medieval aesthetic of the Imperium more than other chapters. If I had to pick I'd probably say BT because their color scheme/iconography is cooler.

I <3 me some Templar.

Templar. They don't even think it's bad to kill billions of innocents if it means killing one more xeno.

Templars ftw, because the teutonic knights are way cooler than the ghost busters.

Killing everyone they see, saving worlds from deamons and as so the entire empire and winning all battles, thats making a no brainer to me.

I'll cast my vote for the Black Templars. I dig their color.

GK if you wanna win any tourneys... BT are just so expensive

At the risk of causing you a heart attack, why do you think they're lame? Im curious.

And in addition to the above... what's wrong with Rainbow Warriors??

Black Templars


Grey Knights were fine, until their fluff was "inquisitionyfied" . And a place is really screwed if the GK show up.
If the BT come, that place will be re-claimed in his name and the enemy is still as dead as it would be if the GK cared.
But the people will live, as BT have no issiues with witnesses of their victories. GK otoH, may not let you live just to be sure...

Grey Knights are meant for banishing Daemons.

BT are for killing Xenos.

I'd go GK since their Primarch Is rumored to be the Emperor plus every single one of them are Physics and never fallen to Chaos.

Grey Knights banish daemons, Black templars banish everything

In lore and in play they are very different and have respective strengths.

GK-Every soldier is a psyker.
BT-Not one psyker in the entire chapter.

I've noticed Dakka has a very strong and vocal Black templar fan base, myself included

I stumble into this thread on accident by clicking on the wrong forum section... but what the heck!
I like grey knights better myself. Both chapters have a strong medieval european knight theme but black templars are more anachronistic with only their weaponry separating them from actual feudal knights. Grey knights are much more a fusion of the knightly and sci-fi inspirations and ,to me anyway, bear more original concepts than many other marine chapters.
in the background they are both rather interesting and have some characterful stories but I think the templars have a wider range of material. Ironically, the templars also seem more held back by gw's refusal to progress the story. We know grey knights will be doing the same thing for the next 1000+ years but the templars have a chance to grow in more ways than just recruitment.
