Subject: Let's face it, we ALL knew this was coming.
Seen it in the Livestream already...
Looks okay 343 have some Bungie Devs so it shouldn't be too bad.
I want to get it for the story...

Yes and no.
The reason he was 'retired' was because he really didn't play too big of a role on Reach and they wanted to try something new.
Chief is by all definition 'a lone wolf'. He doesn't play well with others, and fitting him into Reach would have required more of a retcon than the idea of a S-III black ops team operating on the surface.

Chief was in orbit of Reach during the fall...
The S-III project was messed up...

Also because he was scheduled for a Trilogy. They made 5 Halos (6 if you count the RTS one) He's only in the Trilogy that is about him.
Maybe the new guys will be respectful of the original guy's creation but if not that'll be a shame.

Exactly. Chief was orbiting Reach during the Fall of Reach, and then fled aboard the Pillar of Autumn once the main defenses went down.
Not sure what you mean by the S-III Project being 'messed up'. But they did have some S3 teams that were developed not to be 'suicide squads', but rather 'hunter' teams to track down HVTs and kill them messily and publicly.

I'll place my hope in this, call of duty: modern warfare 2 two: red alert 2 looks pretty stupid and gears of war: no sleeves looks about as generic a gears game as they could make. The RPGs are cleaning the action titles up this year.

Do you remember that time that thing happened?

Agreed, except the "Hope in this part". I didn't really care for Halo 2 and 3 as much as I did CE and Reach, mostly because YOU were supposed to be the Badass in CE and Reach, and in 2 and 3 they had the established character.
But yes, RPG's are dominating this year.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

I meant that training children and making them into unstable super soldiers is wrong to me...
Especially after they send them into suicide missions.
I know humanity is fighting for its very survival and this shows it well but damn... that's pretty dark.

I don'tknow how to feel about this, the ending with chief in cryo was pretty good. He didn't die, he just faded away a bit and I think it was a good way to end it.
Reach was also a fantastic game and a great way to show the events leading up to Master Chief's trilogy, unlike the Star Wars prequels.
I think they should've ended it, but then again multiplayer is a big thing and they may have a lot of new stuff so it doesn't get stale to a lot of the players.

40k sends grown men on suicide missions for an Emperor they love, for families they wish to save and for the survival of humanity.
The UNSC send children, who are dangerously over-engineered and have never known the society they are fighting and dying for on suicide missions for the survival of humanity.
The fact that this is humanity only a few hundred years in our future and in a much better situation than the Humanity in 40k makes it even darker...
The Imperium suits the setting but that kinda of action from the UNS... that is darker and more chilling because it is closer (Admittedly not a great deal closer but still closer)

It's not a silencer, it seems to be some sort of grenade pistol. He fires it at the door just after he grabs it, and blows it apart.
I will most definitely be getting this, as well as Anniversary. Halo never stopped being fun for me, and I've no wish for them to "let it die" or whatever
I probably should not be as excited as I am for this game. I agree with being a little hesitant that Bungie isn't doing it, but if 343 has some of the folks from Bungie AND has been doing maps/updates to the existing stuff, then I'm definitely more hopeful.
And they got the same voice actors it seems, so bonus there.
Only sad part is that there's no Johnson :(

Yes, it seems to function like the old 'ramrod' grenades that the M1 Garand had. Where the force of the bullet sent the grenade flying.

I'm going to get this game simply because it is Halo. I just love the setting and story that much, and multiplayer is much better than COD, because of the vehicles. And they should have Sgt. Johnson still alive some how. That would be awesome, seeing as he has already escaped death once. lol They could arrive on that planet, and sgt Johnson could be sitting there smoking a cigar waiting for them
May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )

I'd rather the went to some other Spartan in some other theatre, perhaps expanding the timeline to post reach/halo (in fact I would imagine where this new game is set).
As much as I do like Halo, I want something fresh.
Hell, some Covenant pre-unification setting might be cool to explore, ignore the humans pretty much entirely.

Read the books. The expand a lot on the games...
This new game is set after Halo 3... kinda why it is called Halo 4 come to think of it...

343 Industries will also be making 'Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary'. One of the functions will be to seamlessly switch between the graphics of the original and the remake. Question is: Why?

Because they had it as a feature during development to check up on stuff, and decided that they just really liked it. Seeing as how the entire point of Halo CEA is to look back at and celebrate the original game, I can see why they left it in.
