Planet Description -
The Algorans from the planet Algor live upon a planet almost completely urbanized.
The Planet is very cold and was once covered in snow (Algor - Latin for Cold).

PRE-IMPERIAL HISTORY ( Explanations) -
Plasma Guns-
Plasma Heating technology was invented in the early stages of the Algoran Urbanization process
as an efficient way of heating aside from the drawbacks of problems with direct contact to the plasma core, it was long lasting.
The Plasma Heater was placed in an underground chamber , at center of a city block and heated all buildings on the block.
Smaller versions were available for personal use by citizens. The discovery of plasma brought about the Algoran Revolution because algorans were no longer reliant on the fossil fuels for warmth. During the Algoran revolution , rebel forces desperate for weaponry
discovered that plasma heaters could be turned into devastating weapons. After the war home brew plasma weaponry was plentiful.
Algorans Took a liking to the Imperial standard Plasma Gun as it is more efficient in most ways.

Rough Riders-
Algoran people have always had horses , and so it has been since the tribal stage of their people.
A war steed is treasured and is often considered a warriors true spirit. Algorans are a long living and advanced civilization.
In there earlier days (post tribal) Algorans were heavily reliant on fossil fuels. The Great revolution came about when the people
of Algor had enough of the planets torture it had endured over the period of fossil fuel usage. The rebel forces began removing fossil fuels
from the face of Algor and destroying all Oil-Extraction sites , and the blue prints along with them. The people of Algor have reverted to horses
as a eco-friendly method of transportations
(AND SO A BRILLIANT IDEA FOR HORSE DRAWN WAR MACHINES IS BORN IN MY MIND)

That good sir, is because automotive technology wasn't know by Algorans until the empire discovered them!
Do you actually find it inconceivable for a horse to travel the roads of a city designed for horses , because i do believe this idea isn't so far fetched.

And Jenkins is a WIP i painted him in a dark atmosphere and he looked spot on until i shined a light on him and seen him at 4x his original size , i did however notice the hand , im just gonna touch him up when i get green stuff so i can work on his other arm.

Oh and his nose is grey to in case you didn't noticed , I'm contemplating the addition of water to my tallarn flesh paint to help it spread into creases and cover better, but im of course at fault either way you swing it i cant blame my mistakes on paint but only on the fact that I'm a novice painter , and this is my first army.

Keep it up! I find that a little fluff and some names goes a long way to feeling attached (and not loosing steam) on a new army. Naming each trooping in an IG army might get tough, though Coming up with a reason why automotive tech was unknown (or deemed blasphemous, or lost) would help with the story. Plasma reactors are pretty advanced for a culture not to have mechanical locomotion, but anything is possible with a good story!

You painting is looking pretty good for a first timer. I would watch out for mold lines when you're modeling, though. There's a few on Jenkins (leg and backpack) and some on Tucker (lasgun, maybe more).

I've assembled 3 more models to go along with Jenkins and Tucker as there fellow Veterans.

This Guy is my favourite (Canadian spelling of favorite) so far , he just looks hardcore to me.

First army eh? (I'm Canadian too ) Well, on that note, good luck and have fun with it. Who cares how good or bad one is at painting as long as you enjoy it. That's how/why I started. Skill just comes with time and practice (which I'm sure you already knew seeing as how this is usually taught in grade school).

I really like the idea of your IG (me likey horsies). You mentioned about thinking about watering down your Tallarn Flesh. May I suggest watering down all your paints a bit? I find personally that there's better coverage, less detail lost and easier spreadability. And as Rawson mentioned, watch out for mold lines (use a file or edge of a modelling knife to get rid of them), but don't feel bad about them. It took me 10 years to figure out to get rid of mine. o_O

Thanks my fellow syrup drinker , iv'e decided to try my hand at highlighting on flesh and am going to use a dark flesh , to tallarn flesh, to elf flesh, maybe even super highlights of bleached bone? Im just now deciding Badab Black isnt a universal wash and that i should invest in ogryn flesh , and devlan mud , maybe washing my trousers with mud flak with black , and felsh with ... flesh. Eyes are also a touchy subject for me any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated , i though of since my hands are shakey i could paint the white in the eye first , dot the pupil and then fill in the flesh colours around it that way if i cand dot the eye with white perfectly , no big deal.

However you really need to smooth off the mould lines and flash. It rather spoils the effect when painted if you;ve got lines and bumps of plastic all over the model. Well worth the time and effort.

Sweet! Give one a ski mask and paint a skull on it! That could be Ghost and those could be counted as veterans.
Give another one a baseball cap and stubbly beard and call him Gaz, which ironically ahs the same voice actor as ghost.

Favourite is also the British spelling (I read a lot of European literature) but is it pronounced like Favoorit in canada?

I pronounce Favourite as fave-rit Ill make a whole squad dedicated to CoD with soap, roach, ghost, and so on and so forth, just for you XD
