What army is the most hated in your opinion?
Tau are getting much hater from everyone, but most people agreed that Eldar are even more hated.
What is Dakka opinion.

It's not that I hate them, but I just find it unnecessary to make a dark angels codex (or black templars even) considering that the vanila marine codex could be enough.

Around here, Tyranids.

I like them but SW get a lot of flak...

People who truly "hate" an army of plasticmen need to get their head examined.

I don't hate any of the armies. They all have their own flavors and have something for everyone.

The Grey Knight update miffed me a little to say the least.

Depends on where you are.

The Eldar are really only hated on /tg/, which I assume is where you got that from.

The Tau tend to have haters in the community more than some other armies, and I'll admit my own favorite army, the Necrons, have something of a hatedom as well.

Ultramarines get a lot of hate in general, but that's more people hating Ward than hating the actual faction, IMO.

Around here, the Space Wolves seem to have a sizeable amount of haters, a group I admit I belong to.

Though really, I'm not particularly sure why this thread exists, or what purpose it serves.

Technically, that thread is different in that it asks what army you personally hate, rather than which is hated by the community at large.

Though, I feel like this will probably degenderate into a hate thread.

The hate for space wolves and guard is nearly universal.

The tau hate is for people wanting grim dark to not have a beacon of hope in it, since the tau aren't exactly grim dark and are in the grim dark 40k game, you blend the two together and get haters. Which is ok, because after the tau get a new codex, the haters will have even more to hate.

It most certainly is not.

Despite my own personal feelings, the Space Wolves are considered a fan favorite among a very sizeable chunk of the 40k playerbase.

The Imperial Guard is among the most popular and liked armies in the game.

I think Guard and Space Wolf hate is mostly against certain list builds and not the codex itself. Its the Leafblower and Longfang Spam that people hate, not the codex.

Tau probably have the most proper hate against them because Grimdarkness cannot co-exist with a beacon of hope. Its almost the point of grimdarkness, why its very definition is Hopelessness and Dispair.


I actually don't mind the whole Greater Good thing. its the fact that the Tau are actually percieved by alot of people as genuine good guys. I look in the fluff and see the Greater Good as a sham, a cleaver disguise to concel the true nature of the Tau Empire. a ploy by the Etherials to gain ultimate power.

If the new Tau codex focuses more on the Farsight Enclaves and highlights some of the more dubious methods used to spread the Empire I think the Tau will be hated far less.

Yeah, but Brother Coa needs to post at least one Xeno hate thread per day, and there are not that many different ways to formulate a question about Xeno hate.

I hate Tau for their rules, not the background, which I love...

I don't care how bad their codex is, the people playing them are always some of the best generals I've ever met, and that JSJ means I can never catch them.

I dislike the tau. Hate is a strong word.
Hate is used if you want to kill them.

Well, I was not playing back then, but when they came out their standard gun had a realistic chance of popping Landraiders, the "March of Doom" was actually a tactic where you fielded a lot of Warriors, and proceeded to move and shoot. Or so I have heard, anyway.

Some were also miffed by the fluff, disliking them being touted as unstoppable (But apparently no one has a single problem with the Tyranids being touted as similar, go figure).

Just a few reasons that come to mind, but you'd probably get a more clear answer from a Necron hater, rather than player.

Not understanding why there are so many "hate question" threads.
Nor why the hate in the first place, if indeed it actually exists. Anyone hating a fictional faction of toy soldiers needs help.

There are people who literally think Ward should die for what he has apparently done.

While I disagree with such miscreants, the hate does exist.

The Eldar player in my group is a tactical genius. I would have selected any army he plays.

His Eldar kick my ass 60% of the time, with ties about 25%, and my wins a measly 15% (if I were to guess).

Isn't that kind of the point of this game? To kill the opposing army? Using your logic, everybody playing 40k would hate the opponent's army.

Yes, I've heard that back then Necrons were close to unbeatable, or, at the very least, totally dreaded. I was not playing back then either, having started just a few months back and right now I have them all in stasis again waiting for a new codex... still...

Considering it was created as a hate thread, I don't think it has room to degenerate. Hate is also way too strong a word for anything on the table. I don't like Lash of Submission, but I don't want to strangle someone for using it.

Any thread started by Brother Coa that includes anyone who doesn't think that Sol shines out of the emperor's bony ass and that Humanity is the be all and end all of the game is generally bad news.


Most hated around here would be Blood Angels run cheesy or GK's

Space Wolves and Eldar.

Tau get tons of hate from the fan community. Not from a "they're overpowered and hard to fight" standpoint (quite the opposite...) but rather everyone just rips on them. You can see it in the current posts in the fluff section. Grey Knights got the same thing shortly after the new codex, though this has slowly been dying down.

With all this mention of space wolves I'm surprised as I've never seen them hated on much around here.

Orks probably get the least amount of hate. Everybody wuvs them.
