Dunno if this is the right place, but I feel it is since it is since where else could it go?
We've all had these idea's, that never really got off the ground for whatever reason
for me, there's a few- Chaos Squats, Alice and Wonderland theme, the grass, something based off the movie Space Mutiny, penguins
(yeah my idea's are more out there then most, but hey its a creative hobby damnet!)

though one day I will make my Penguin army!
mark my words...just need a good bunch of mini's

I wanted a Pirate Space Wolf army consisting entirely of Grey Hunters and Long Fangs.

Kabal of the Void Dominator - now with more purple!

Ideas, not ideas. You don't need apostrophes for plurals almost ever.

My two ideas that I've had were for a Squats army and a World Eaters army. For the squats, I would convert up Dwarves with Space Marine scout arms, and counts-as them as scout Marines. I would then get the Armorcast termite models and use them for drop pods, and make a Pedro Kantor/Sternguard-centric Squat counts-as Marines army. It would have a few squads of "Hearthguard" (Sternguard) in the drop pod/termites, and three Thudd Gun/Thunderfire Cannons.

My other idea is for a World Eaters army using the Space Wolves codex. I would have units of Khorne Berserkers riding Juggernauts for Thunderwolf Cavalry, and Berserkers in rhinos for Grey Hunters.

If I ever have the money I plan on doing a Wizard of Oz themed army. The plan came about when 40k still had witch hunters.

Dorthy was an Inquisitor (had here whole backstory and she would have a large dog or wolf like beast called toto)
In her travels she meets Scarecrow (Vindicare assassin, he is often the brains of here operation, though he feels himself inadequate to the task)
The "Tin Man" (Grey knight who had she found trapped in susupended animation, he is known for his heartless slaying of imperial citizens on even the slimmest suspicion of heresy or taint)
and "The Lion" (IG officer known for his bravery, actually making up for cowardice in his youth)

I would use Vostroyan figs painted like the guards at the witches castle. They pledged loyalty to dorthy after she slew the rogue psyker that had taken control of their planet.

Ratlings that look like munchkins

some sort of flying monkey type things and so on.

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.

Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.

You just need a pterodactyl model, and he could have the deepstrike rule

I have one, several models I could use, but he's pretty much his own army, he is the man after all!
(any movie Reb Brown is in, he pretty much kills everything) werewolves, people, robots, more people, cavemen, sand mummies, another robot, christopher lee, I mean he's so awesome he's appeared on several box covers to movies he wasn't even in
thats skill right there

I did make a catachan look like him but couldn't justify having him in an army because he is an army!

I always wanted a Doctor Who themed army using Imperial guard or a Cyberman/Dalek Necron army - but it's probably already been done somewhere! I still have plans to do an IG veteran squad as the ABC warriors from 2000AD - that would be cool.

Hmmmm, none of my ideas really go nowhere, but quite a few have gotten very little mileage.

As for the least completed army, that would have to be the boxes of Dire Avengers, Guardians, and a weapon platform collecting dust on my desk. One Guardian got painted up as a test for a Biel Tan army, the rest are all NoS.

The most thought I've put into an army that never saw the light of day would have to be my CSM. I only managed a half-assembled unit of Marines kitbashed from loyalist/traitor Marines and an unassembled Bloodthirster, but I worked out their whole backstory about how they were the victims of the psychic backlash of Sanguinious' death: essentially the very first Death Company who chased off into the Warp after Horus and have been warped by its influence over the millenia, though they continue to hunt down all those who would follow in the footsteps of the traitorous warmaster.

On my part, Napoleonic Guard and Prussian-Inspired Guard. Although, it did get me some Ogryn with pickelhaubes, which are kind of cool.

Wargames Foundry sell some quite good ABC Warriors btw, actually they sell loads of good 2000AD minis.

They are all metal so I pity the fool that decides to make an IG Nort army!

Santarian(spelling?) would make great marines as would the Jadoon.Cyberman/Daleks would make an awesome army .The only real way to get an IG army would be to use it as U.N.I.T or maybe Torchwood either way the T.A.R.D.I.S would make one hell of an objective marker . Although i dont know how you would play the doctor in game since i doesn't use any guns or fight very much.

Fixed. Great ideas, btw Maybe some weeping angels, using Dark Angel bits?
I've been thinking of an Alice in Wonderland themed Dark Eldar army led by the Red Queen. I will probably do this someday when I have enough time and money. Someone's probably done it already, but whatever.

Well, I had the idea to make an undead guardsman army for LATD many moons ago, but the dropping of the army and the sheer number of conversions I would have to do put that on hold indefinitely. I did however make a few sample figures:

Then there were the color shifting 'crons which will probably be picked up once the new edition of the codex comes out:

As for the undead Guard army, I'm sure I've seen a user on this site who has such a thing. I remeber seeing pictures of skeletons in IG uniform, manning heavy weapons, etc.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Out flanking foot guard with alharem and creed, i keep going yes i'll do it, then i look at how many models need to be painted and built.

I've started and stopped too many ideas.

Polish winged hussar space marine biker army.

Undead Napoleonic corpse and musket British army

Heavy metal themed Napoleonic army, to fight the above. They would have guitars instead of pipers.

Orks parodying the grey knights.

Space Skaven.

All kroot army, styled after the French foreign Legion.

Beastmen penal troopers.

Monochromatic Sin City style dark eldar (current project)

Ones I actually did:
Massive blob guard, and gave each a different greenstuff hat like in Team Fortress.
Teddy bear lace wars, from Eureka minis.
Kroot Blood Bowl team.

Four scholars at Oxford were making their way down the street, and happened to see a group of ladies of the evening. “What’s this?” said the first. “A jam of tarts?” “Nay,” said the second, “an essay of Trollope’s.” “Rather, a flourish of strumpets,” advanced the third. “No, gentlemen,” concluded the last. “Here we have an anthology of pros.”

I have had quite a few over the years. Some were only ideas, some had test models, and 1 was made.

One of my favorites that I had envisioned and made some test models for, was Space Balls the Warhammer army. Had it all planned out, but it was back when IG blew.

Had the idea for 2 different Heavy Metal themed armies. 1 was based on the story with the WWII crashed planes. Doing an army with that kind of undead look. The other was based on the last story.

Had the idea for an Indian themed fantasy army with Elephant warriors using the OK rules

The last was a LatD army using conversions to look like Event Horizon. I actually built this one, but sold it after the LatD got squatted.

My most enthusiastic failed ideas:
Zombie Pirate Fantasy Army - canned because the cost of making the army (including a zombified giant zoidberg for a rotting leviathan) was not worth it considering the entire army list comes from an 8-page article in a white dwarf from a stupidly long time ago, that isn't tourney-legal and requires opponents consent at all times...

'The Soylent Brotherhood' - A nurgle CSM army based around soylent green, essentially the warband tricked the goverment of a planet going through civil unrest over food shortages into being hired as riot control. Soon both riots and food shortage dissappear, turns out they are nurgle worshipping cannibals. Army was going to be made of plague marines in repressors (representing the riot squads with those garbage trucks out of the movie) with a 'mobile suppression fortress' defiler. Canned due to cost and lack of free time...
