So I was browsing the interweb and came across some discussions about space marines vs master chief. 99% of the people said space marines would rock chiefs cradle, but i dont think they give chief what he deservse.

Now there would be two ways of comparing these two, compare from what we see, or convert master chief to 40k.

Since everyone is going on what they see, or basic knowledge between the two, I say lets convert and compare just to see what we got.

One Ultramarine (Tactical Squad p134 space marine codex)
WS4 BS4 S4 T4 W1 I4 A1 Ld8 Sv3+
Wargear: Power Armour, Bolt Pistol, Frag and Krak Grenades, Boltgun
Special: ATSKNF, Combat Squads, Combat Tactics

Now Space marine power armour has specs in the death watch core rulebook and rites of battle, but for simplisity sakes, lets just look at the core rule book.

Space Marine Astartes Power Armour Includes (p161 Deathwatch Core Rulebook):
Ceramite Plating (Increases Armour Plating)
Enhanced Strength (Increases Strength)
Auto-senses (See in dark, immune to flash and stun, Increases sight based checks wile wearing helmet)
Osmotic Gill Life Sustainer (Gains an adequate oxygen supply)
Bio-monitor and Injectors (automatically administers drugs when needed)
Vox Link (Comunication)
Magnetized Boot Soles
Nutrient Recycling (dont need to eat for 2 weeks)
Recoil Suppression (basic weapons become one-handed)
Giant Among Men (moves faster but harder to hide)
Poor Manual Dexterity (delicate tasks are harder to do)

that was the easy part, it was done for us already

Now with this I will leave for discussion, keep an eye open for master chiefs stats and my conclusion.

I dunno, I think Mighty Morphin Power Rangers come out on top. They are the only ones on the list with personal Titans.

Then again, powerful psykers like Magnus can tear Titans apart with their psychic powers...

Hmm, but the Power Rangers could team up with Darth Vader, who could use the force to cancel out said powers.

Okay, we are going to have to establish teams here.

This isn't going to end well.

Space Marines win. They have giant space ships and a life eater virus. Instant win.

Prepares self for the inevitable nerd rage to follow...

I call a draw, both characters in their respective universes are capable of being a 1 man army when compared to the majority of foes they face, therefore I'd say the chief would have a stat line equal to that of the marines tbh... You may as well play a 1v1 sm vs sm game and see who wins the majority of games, the only difference is the paint job!

Why oh why do I keep opening these mythos vs mythos postings? I know they only make my brain ooze out through the ears.

Exterminatus kind of trumps most video game characters however, except possibly Sheppard (Mass Effect)... but I think Sheppard would take one look at a Space Marine and go get bigger guns... or a tank. Even then I'm pretty sure Cerberus would just wind up rebuilding him again.

Chuck Norris round house kicks titans for breakfast.

One punch of chuck norris is the best defense vs psychic powers.

[Resident Evil] Nemesis vs. [40k] Space Marine Terminator

Hmmm..... I would say Terminator unless Nemesis actually runs away lol.

Speed: Nemesis
Agility: Nemesis
Toughness: Nemesis
Armor: Terminator ( if armor cannot be penetrated the lesser toughness wouldn't be an issue )
Weaponry: Terminator ( unless ammo depletes and power fist ran out of power ). Though Nemesis does have something that works like a rending flesh hook.

Over all: Terminator wins, unless Nemesis engages and runs till Terminator runs out of ammo and power or they both fall into deep ocean -_-

This topic is like a recurring nightmare, or a bad smell that won't go away...

Sorry OP but there's a reason that everyone says a space marine would win. Hell I love Halo a lot more than I love 40k and even I'm not crazy enough to think otherwise.

If you're curious about people's actual opinions on this though you could always search for one of the dozens of previous threads on this exact subject; try one of the earlier ones where people weren't tired of talking about it yet.

Your statement proves your insanity! (just to be clear, crazy that you think a Space Marine would win, not that you love Halo more as the latter makes perfect sense.)

Also, I find it ironic, looking back over this thread, how many folks seem to be interested in commenting on how un-interested (is that a word? disinterested? de-interested?) they are in the original topic.

When it comes up as often as it does, it gets to be a problem. The threads never go anywhere conclusive, it's just a bunch of people going "I like X better" and not really making an interesting conversation. Also, the topic itself is completely insipid, and the variations on it don't make it any better.

Yes, and freedom is the right of all sentient beings and all that. But how often do we need to see this same thread? This Summer was miserable; there was another WHO WOULD WIN HURF DURF thread every few days, and I'd have to scroll past half a dozen of the damn things to get to anything worthwhile. I just don't see why people can't use the search function and read the last thread. Halo 1 came out ten years ago. People have been making this same comparison for ten years and for some reason they still make threads about it. Just search for the last dozen threads of its ilk if the topic interests you.
