I bought a nice army called "Angel guard" some time ago. I have started to make some new models to it, because it was based on old Grey knights codex and some others. Idea behind this is that you can play tournament WYSIWYG with any of following armies: Grey knights, Dark angels, Black templars, Blood angels, Space wolves. My focus is now on blood angels and Grey knights, which both I really love. I don't fancy playing GK though that much, because of all the crying for purifiers. But anyway, here's some of the old photos
THESE ARE MADE MOSTLY BY TAPIO MIETTINEN; NOT ME and they'we won some GW's award of best Powerarmour army:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Here are some Paladins and HQ I made
Here's also some purifiers with hammers
Every model is about a head higher than normal marine and they all have terminator shoulderpads and greenstuffed arms and torsos for extra height. Now every unit has 2 psycannons + 1 hammer.

The banners are a bit much imo, they're enormous. Your purifiers are looking great, though, nice use of DA robes.

Banners are printed and I just glued them on thick brown paper and burned the edges. Stands behind banners are made from cocktailsticks and the base is made from cottonstick (Topz) plastic part which was cut the right size. Just stick them in.

Army can also be used counts as Spacewolves. I'm planning to make two or three more of those. I don't have the codex but I think they're thunderwolves. I don't play as much as I paint so some are also made just for fun or because they're cool. Just like these two fistieguys.
I'll just have to finish the bases.
Automatically Appended Next Post: And thank you all very much for your comments. If you come up with some improvements that could look cool I'm always willing to try if I find the time. Automatically Appended Next Post: These guys by the way are meant to be sergeants and I picked up the same theme my devastators have. I gues these are loaned from devs in the times of need. Automatically Appended Next Post: And you also asked are those da robes, they are. They have also parts from Black templars, Grey knights, Khorne Berzerkers and Sanguinary guard.

Very epic paintjob seriously.. well done.. although I think a massive banner isn't that handy in battle.. what if they descend from a thunderhawk? or stormraven? they don't fit but they look great keep up the good stuf man

They're paladins. Of course they are taking example from their predecessors Knights, Samurai and Templars, which all had banners in a very important role in a battlefield. But to Angel Guard Paladins that's only a matter of style.

OMG! I love that idea!! Are the models you bought basically black templars, dark angels and grey knights bits mashed together in one massive kitbash? I might have to steal this.... it's genius...

Yes, plus Khorne Berzerkers and Sanguinary Guard. Now I'm making Black templar terminators with deathmasks. They're not ready so I don't wanna post them here. I've also made them tabards from greenstuff.

I was really loving everything as I scrolled down the page... until I saw the artwork on the banners.
I understand your concept, but I personally feel like the artwork of "real world" religious figures degrades your work immensely. Before people start flaming - i'm not bashing on religion, I just feel ours doesn't belong in the 40K universe. They have their own.
(p.s. as others have mentioned - the banners are far too big, i'd like to see them fit through a doorway )

The grey knights are old stuff and I haven't even played with them, just painted them for a challenge, though I'm really satisfied with the whole consept as I think it suit perfectly to the consept of Imperium and their religious imagery. Real world religious matters I do not comment here.
Now I'm consentrating totally on Angelguard and learning to play the game right

I think your next project should be to paint your own banners of the saints. I agree, they're huge. You seem proficient enough with painting that you could pull off a set of custom banners nicely. Even if they were spitting images of the one you have now- because really, saints are saints, and if you can stand copied images in your own army then by all means keep them, but they'd still be that much better if you painted them yourself.

These are unbelieveable. Personally i like the big banners but as some have said not too fond of the stuff on them tho, it doesn't really go with 40k, but other that that these guys are amazing deffinatly going to have to follow this.

Digging the models, both yours and the models you purchased, not a huge fan of the banners on the HQ and paladins, but I like the way you modeled them, just don't like the religious iconography

Paint jobs are awesome, but as others have said; the christian banners just don't fit in 40k.
Gradients on that cockpit panel look smooth, how did you achieve that?
