Yeah, sure this thread has popped up a few times in different forms, but I'd like to see what 1 song people associate with their favorite list and why.

Describe your list, giving us a little background into how it 'feels', what inspired it, or what it's 'about' to you; and then pick the one song that you best associate with the list, either as something you imagine them blasting over vox, or being played over a montage of the battle, or just something that you think embodies the feel of your list.

For example, I have a Farsight-Enclave Tau Army I love playing, it's not the most competitive list, but It's got some teeth; It's an elite list, with some overspending on wargear, but if you try to push it around with over aggressive deployment, it can snap back with a brutal beta-strike and punish you for trying to contain it. I imagine that my units are the devoted veterans of farsight's breakaway campaign, always fighting uphill battles against the oppressive forces of all the enemies to the greater good, operating outside of the law of their empire, and challenging the constraints of external morality in favor of their own personal code.

When I want to get into the mindset of the list, I put on this song, or one of the millions of covers of it:

Yeah, that's the one. I can see it now... Imagine that your'e a SM that's just been taken on board Huron Blackheart's flagship as a prisoner SM survivor. You get led into a huge room where, stood on a great big podium in the centre, stands the man himself. And blasting out at an obscene volume is...this tune...

Ahh yes...it's got Huron all over it this tune has. Right up his street, no?

Or, alternatively, I can just see Huron having this blasting out of a Noise Marine's speakers as they advance on the enemy on some distant battleground. Perfection.

There's nothing more compelling in all of known art and expression than the story of great drama and endurance.

I don't see my Guard as some invincible force or venerable veterans of bygone wars, nor a regiment of renown. They are men, ordinary men. They answer the call of war with bitter prayers on their lips, battered las-locks and carbines, fraying flak jackets, and ramshackle vehicles built from the love of their families.

This song brings out the bitterness and reality of my army; always on call but never unscathed. Tragedy and Endurance... Nothing more stirring or compelling to watch them simply survive and endure.

hmmm depends what army i'm playing, when I had my Imperial guard infantry army which was themed around 1943 Russia i'd play this song: (its a bit obvious really)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWIZ1XA8f2s

However I mainly play Khorne now, I see these guys as the modern version of the huscuarls, or the Immortals and I love to play this song, it sort of makes me imagine an army grinding their enemy down piece by peice.
