This list would most likely get slaughtered pretty fast by blasts, Mech guard would have a field day. Gretchin are not that great for a main troop choice, their good for bubble wrapping lootas so they get a cover save, and their good for sitting in the back holding an objective. If you just want a fluffy Grot list, than go for it. Also, the big gunz. Zzap guns just aren't as good as kannons, turn them into kannons. Don't even bother giving your buggies the trakk upgrade. just go with normal rokkit buggies. Mega armor on the boss probably isn't that good either, seeing as though their is no dedicated transport for him. just give him 'eavy armor. Warp heads are fun, but don't do that much in the long run because of their unreliability. As for the kans, they have the best BS in the codex, don't give them scorchas, put Grotzookas on them for a good anti-infantry punch.

fair points fair points. why aren't zzap guns worth it? They're s7 on average and can get S 10 regularly. Seems worth it to me but I don't play orks. Enlighten me.

it's mainly the fact that their unreliable. You can get as low as a S2 shot. Also, if you get more than 10 you kill off one of your crew. But with a Kannon, you get either a S4 AP5 blast (crappy) Or you can chose to shoot a strength 8 AP 3 shot. The S8 shot is usually better than what you would get on a Zzap gun, the only thing is it's AP 3 instead of 2, but that's not that much of a difference. Also, you have to pay an additional 10 points per gun.

A few things, don't take those Burnas unless you have a transport for them, their not worth it. Also, the buggys, I think you where better off with big gunz (kannons) because the buggys are going to be slowed down by the massive amount of gretchin you have on the field, unless you deploy them in the front, but than they might be blown up by turn 1 shooting.

On your original list, Mega Armour comes with a PK, and you can't get a second one- that'd free up 25 points for you.
ON both lists, Grot riggers are useless in Squadrons, unless they're on the very last model- so unless you're putting them on just to be fluffy (which I heartily approve of, mind you!) you''ll want to take off at least 2, maybe all 3 from each squadron.
Whoo! KMB Kanz!
And go ahead with the Warphead and Zzap guns if you want. Why not throw in a SAGMek too while your at it, just for the sheer chaos all those random effects would cause?

The army list forum is for trying to make a list more competitive, usually not more fluffy. He never specified if he wanted a fluffy list or a competitive list, so I was assuming a more competitive one. And Warpheads, Zzap guns, and SAG meks are not competitive. SAG meks can be devastating, but they don't come close to the usefulness as the KFF mek, which if you get a big mek HQ, is what you should be giving him if you run in tournaments.
I'm all for having a fun, go crazy Ork list. But not in the army list section.

Considering grots have no save whatsover, I think you should at least add in a Big Mek KFF / Super Runtherder to herd this mass of grots and give them some semblance of a chance to making it halfway across the board.

Dok Grotnsik 160
Ghazzy
X30 Gretchin,x3 Runtherd-+ 33 Cybork
X30 Gretchin,x3 Runtherd-33 Cybork
X30 Gretchin,x3 Runtherd-33 Cybork
X30 Gretchin,x3 Runtherd-33 Cybork
X30 Gretchin,x3 Runtherd-33 Cybork
Snikrot +Komammandoes.
Dok and Ghaz deployed w snikrot for deathstar of doom while Cyborked grethchins multi assault and tarpit everything. Try killing 180 cyborked grethchin in 5 rounds ffs, all the while waiting for ghaz and mad dok and snikrot to buttrape your back line.

The only problem is that despite the 5+ save, grots do not have mob rule. They would be extremely vulnerable to sweeping advances.

Squig hounds mean you can re-roll, but lose d3 Grots. I think. It might be auto-pass.
And Grotsnik may have been on his own or with a Cybergrot unit, giving that unit FnP and some extra CC punch.

To answer your question I'm looking for something in the middle. This is an all grot list and it needs to be fluffy. Obviously an all grot list won't compete against leafblower or draigowing or razerfang or whatnot but I am looking to make a pretty good list that can challenge most lists and be competitive enough, I'm not entering Nova with this or anything heck I don't even collect orks, I was just reading the codex and I said to myself wow an all grots list would be pretty cool. Anyway I figure mass s3 shots could be alright against most things. I like the cyber grot idea and a Sagmek might be fun, I've always liked random weapons, they make stuff fun.

I'd use the kans, and that way you may be able to play Operation: Cover Save, until the gretchin get in close. You desperately need to watch for any kind of templates, however.
It'd be interesting to make use of Grotsnik, for the sake of the cybork bodies for whatever models you want to pay for. It would also cut down the number of models you'd need to paint. He'd also grant them the fearless, which would help immensely with their typical leadership.
Edit-
I should add, with the combination of a cybork'd grot squad and fearless from Grotsnik, you've got a squad great for hitting monstrous creatures unless they kite you. Poisonous weapons. <3

Krazed Killa Kan
|
Looks like a fun list to play apart from the appaulingly boring movement phase
I would say one thing:
max out on killa kanz with KMBs/Rokkits (this is your anti-tank, protect them) take 2xKFF big meks (tooled up with CB, PK,etc) as HQ, then essentially you have an insane amount of small bodies with cover saves keeping your tank killers nicely bubble wrapped, you've got plenty of anti-infantry shots in the grots themselves.
But at the end of the day it's your list, if you want buggies and big gunz go for it, but even with a fluffy list I wouldn't reccommend zzap guns.
Kannons are much better than zzap gunz because you can guarantee your strength is suitable for purpose, i.e shoot a tank go with S8 AP3, shoot a unit go with S4AP5Blast. With a zzap gun you might end up shooting a guardsman with a S10 shot then crying with dismay as you only roll S3 when firing at his LR Punisher, and all for the privelege of 10pts more than a kannon

Another thing I heard of doing for green tide formations that would work here is placing 2-3 boyz / grots onto a larger base. These get placed in the blob of the squad and are mainly just for speed of movement. If it ever becomes a game issue, you swap out with casualties or remove the large bases first.
While it is not "legal" by any stretch of the rules, I have yet to come across any opponent who is against anything that speeds up movement of horde armies.
