Space Wolf. Preferably Wolfblade so I could spend my time escorting Eldar and Navigators.

Pre-Heresy: Ultramarines Legion. The largest of the Legions, and led by a Primarch that even the Emperor considered to have vision and abilities greater than might be expected from a Primarch. They were also arguably the most civilized of the Legions, and considering the Imperium at the time of the Great Crusade, that's saying something.

Post-Heresy: Blood Ravens. Very enigmatic Chapter hinted to be the survivors of the loyalist Fourth Fellowship of the Thousand Sons Legion. Also very intelligent individuals, relative to the Imperium's mindset post-Heresy, even if it does get them into trouble with more puritanical Chapters and Imperial organizations.

Loyalist. Salamander, to be precise.

Loyalist: Black Dragons
Chaos: Alpha Legion / Night Lords

I'd probably go renegade though, neither chaos-y nor completely tainted. And I can do what I want almost XD

Doesn't really matter to me. Part of being a Space Marie is having no fear and being, essentially, completely resigned to dying eventually. So it doesn't really matter a whole lot which side I belong too.

Loyalist, maybe Raven Guard or Raptors SM.

A wanderer. They actually care about who dies and they don't want their battle brothers to die at all. Too valuable of an asset. (only 520 of them left and are spread out.) Hint don't be a large chapter.

I'd be a deserter. Both CSM and SM are doomed to a life of constant, unending warfare.

Deserters are hunted down and killed. There's a reason they usually end up joining a Chaos devoted faction.

I would have to say space marine and not chaos, Space marines get all the shinny gear and the chaos have to take theirs off the dead bodies of space marines. And that whole being hunted thing doesn't seem all that great.

Of course I would be an ultra marine space marine. There is something about the blue armor and the poka dot under wear. Standard issue of course.

Hey Its hard to think of the space marines with out a sense of humor. At least the brown strikes in the underies only come after they face a wall of orks, or the new GK codex.

Nah, I'd be a great deserter. I'd hide in a cave until everyone forgot about me (probably a couple years), then I'd go into a local town and say, "IM AN AANGEL OF DEATH OF THE EMPRAH DO WHAT I SAY OR ILL BURNINATE YOU!" Then I'd be the towns peaceful overlord and make sure they obeyed all the rules so that Inquisitors/other Space Marines/Arbites would be called in and say, "Hey, that's that deserter guy. Kill his face!" I've planned it all out.

Definitely a Space Marine. I wouldn't want to kill stuff for the sake of it...I hate CSM for being a bunch of selfish jerks.

Most CSM don't kill just for the sake of killing. Here are the different reasons different Legions sometimes kill.

Black Legion-Kill for revenge, loot, the sake of killing or/and the favor of Chaos
Word Bearers-Kill for the favor of Chaos
Night Lords-Kill for revenge, loot or/and the sake of killing
Alpha Legion-Kill for no clear reason whatsoever because no one knows why they do anything

Death Guard-Kill for revenge and/or the favor of Nurgle
Thousand Sons-Kill for revenge, knowledge and/or the favor of Tzeentch
World Eaters-Kill for the sake of killing and/or the favor of Khorne
Emperor's Children-Kill for pleasure, revenge, the sake of killing and/or the favor of Slaanesh

See, there are plenty of reasons to kill. In fact, some Legions (esp. the Black Legion) kill and fight for pretty much the same reasons as loyalists (minus the Chaos bit). They're both extremely violent, uncompromising and psychotic factions in a galaxy spanning war with no end in sight. Really, if you replace the Chaos Gods with the Emperor and get rid of the loot part you pretty much get most loyalists. But, CSM are, on average, more evil than SM, but not by as much as you'd think.

So Imperium is just like all of those except in favour of anyone, it's just for the emperor, the imperium, and the chapter/primarch
