Just trying to warn people to not buy GW bits from a Ebay powerseller named "spikeybits". I won an auction that had "FREE SHIPPING" listed right in the auction. Then when the item arrived I had to pay postage on delivery!?!? In what universe is paying postage on delivery counted as "FREE SHIPPING"?. What's better is that the seller has refused to fix the problem, or do anything about it. I looked at his feedback and other people have had the same problem. This seller thinks he can rob people like this and get away with it? Spread the word, there are lots of people selling bits on Ebay ... just don't buy from this guy.

Well my item is to be delivered today. If I have to pay anything i will let you know. Also there is only one person on there that has complained about "free shipping"

I've bought from Spikeybits before and can't say I've ever had a problem. I've never bought something that was supposed to be Free Shipping though, but I'd just message him before I warned everyone to boycott him...

What did he do? Underpay on a self-printed shipping label?

I've bought a few things and had no problems. That was a couple of months ago though, so I can't really attest to any of the sellers more recent practices.

SImple fix, get ebay involved.

I have ordered from that ebay seller extensively. I have never once had an issue, and that includes on free shipping. This seems to be an issue of the OP not contacting the seller through ebay first and instead airing his laundry out here

I also have ordered many things from spikey, and not once had a problem...

I've ordered a 40k rulebook and countless bits from spikeybits and never had a problem. IMO spikeybits and the warstore are the two best bitz sites in the country.

Sure its the same guy? It might be, but might not.

'Chaos spikey bits' was a phrase used a lot in the London gaming scene from at least the early 90's as a critique of GW's over-the-top imagery. It was in wide enough circulation that two or more people might have adopted the name.

After all occasionally on some websites I cant use the name Orlanth, some other Runequester got there first.

Spikey Bits and WarStore for the win. I have used them both and been impressed by both. Bad stuff does happen though even with the best sellers. Sounds like things were cleared up though. These types of threads can really hurt sellers though so be careful on the trigger with this type of stuff. For someone who is about to order and sees the title of this thread.... it may change their mind regardless of the content. Seriously.

- Actually 100% incorrect. I have sent the seller 4 emails over the last week and he could not even be bothered to respond to one of them. Thanks for jumping to conclusions. The auction I won ended for less than what similar auctions have ended for recently, so the seller despite having right in the auction "FREE SHIPPING" Thought he could make the money back buy screwing me out of the shipping after the fact. That's just bad business any way you look at it. If you don't want your items selling for less than you want, DON'T LIST THEM AS AN AUCTION ON EBAY. When you put something on Ebay the SELLER is responsible for the listing. It's not my fault nobody else bid on the item and the lister offered "FREE SHIPPING". If other people have had luck ordering from this perosn before that's fine, but be warned what can happen.

I love the anger in your post about the seller, because there is clearly something you are omitting. Spikeybits on ebay is Spikey bits the webstore and the aforementioned blogger on BoLS.

His business is sterling. He would never risk bad press. We should see his side of the story, as your 1 bad testimony see,s to be out of place here.

Spikey Bits in my experience is reputable and honest, but people make mistakes. The wiser course of action when there's an error in a transaction is to contact the seller and attempt to straighten it out, not get angry and complain on forums. That accomplishes nothing, whereas contacting the person who made the error usually yields a more useful result like having the error fixed, mistaken amount refunded, etc.

I've never had that issue with him... and I've bought a ton of stuff from him. I am sure he would be willing to fix it for you...

I have ordered many things from Spikeybits, yes it is the guy on BoLS, only had one problem. A psycannons I ordered didn't come for weeks, sent him an inquiry via eBay got a response same day and the psycannons a few days later. Never a problem with shipping charges. Also your claim of multiple negatives about him having to do with shipping is false.

I've used Spikey Bits with no problems.

Bought easily 100 dollars of bits from them and NEVER had an issue always fast and cheap =D
