So, many agree that the Contemptor dreadnought is one of the coolest models out there. I personally certainly agree with that. The great thing is, Chaos get to use them too! *squee*
But I'm a slaanesh player. I've seen many Khorne ones, and nurgle conversions are easy in concept (add boils, rust, slime, etc). However, short of attaching a sonic blaster I have no ideas on how to convert it to look more slaaneshi!
So I go to the imaginative people of dakka. Please, help! I'll even post pictures when I' done. Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks.

Piercings perhaps? You could punch metal rings through various locations on the armour. Other simple additions might be GS studs and a whip based CCW. THat would certainly fit the general S&M theme of Slannesh.

Other possibilities on the theme of extreme sensation might be different textures on differnt parts of the armour. scales, fur, thorns, smooth, fabric all painted in a riot of colours

Colors, lots of murals on the big open spaces, textures. Enough tentacles to make people who have seen hentai know what to expect. Very ornamental armor, enough to make a relic contemptor feel ugly.

Banner or decor made from flayed skin, similar to Fabius' coat? Couple of Daemonettes with big piles of cocaine on the base?

This one strikes me as sort-of twisted enough. Maybe if you used a less deformed looking upper body and, as was said above, gave it tentacles and what not. I think It's going to come down to the colors though. Maybe give it a toga or something.

What about faces moulded all over the armour in various expressions of agony and torment? Gives the impression of a cacophony of noise.

Have you seen this Contemptor? Its not Slaanesh but it certainly fits the bill gaudiness wise.

The first one seems like it should be singing "I feel pretty, oh so pretty..." while it is killing you.

The top pink one doesn't look real to me. I think it is but the way it's painted makes it look drawn and it just bothers me. Very well painted though.

We have to remember that Slaanesh isn't all about debauchery and rudeness. It's about your induvidual pleasures...think of something like that for your contemptor and cover it in it!

If he loves killing, bits of dead foes, murals to his victories.
If he was a vain man, lots of mirrors and murals of him as a person.
If he is controlling...i.e wants total power, then maybe a whip and chains could work.

Just some random idea that could work, good luck and subbed!

Great Ideas, everyone! I didn't expect any responses, I've heard slaanesh is a hard one to convert for, but Wow!

Here's what I'm thinking so far.

1. The relic contemptor body, with additional chaos trim and slaanesh icons.

2. The fingers of the close combat claw replaced with the tendrils from the Dark eldar Cronos parasite engine.

3. The blank faceplate from the Cronos swapped with the contemptor head (the sleek, smooth, porcelain faceplate seems quite slaanesh-i to me.

4. A large banner mounted on his back, made from flayed skin, depicting Fulgrim or some other EC hero.

5. Gemstones! GEMSTONES EVERYWHERE!

6. The trophy racks from the Cronos attached to its bodykit.

7. Sonic blaster arm.

8. Alternating patches of black. purple, and gold.

What do you guys think of these ideas?

Can anyone tell me how the sonic blaster from the forge world sonic dreadnought would size up mounted on the contemptor's shoulder? Would it be roughly proportional?

I think I would leave off the black, but maybe make it brighter purple than the rest. And the dread arm may or may not work, but it probably will

A lot of Slaaneshi models seem to expose their right breast. Depending on how willing you are to hack it apart you could possibly gouge away the gorget part of the front chassis (the cylinder-like shape below the helmet) then jam a daemonette torso in there. garnish with GS tentacles, eyes, mouths or screaming faces and there you have it

Of course dedicating yourself to the cut is one of the hardest parts IMHO

how about useing the forgeworld slanesh dread arms .
a head from a deamon prince .
spikes from the chaos vehical sets all over it .
small jewlery chain wrapped around it.
and sculpt skin streched over bits ?

Perhaps a totem string of lifeless sprit stones around his next? Maybe a flayed eldar skin stretched over the Neck plate? (This bit that says Aphael in the Mockup image).

I was thinking a loyal torso on one of the spikes. Do Salamanders

model boobs and tentacles on , but in all fairness, what you've got their looks really good. you could add some speakers on the torso, or even on the shoulders.

I just remembered - In the Daemonworld book there was a Slaaneshi Marine Dreadnought commander type, who liked to open his sarcophagus during combat so the withered remains of his torso could feel the breeze (amongst other things). If you want to go totally mental why not make the thing openable and model in a witherd husk

Important question - are the talo tentacles sized properly in the mockup, or are they bigger or smaller? The tentacles, not the trophy racks - I've already been told that they're too big.
