Hey guys, thought I'd start this thread up as a bit of fun. This is purely wish-listing. Orks havent really been talked about a whole bunch in the context of 6th edition, or nor is there much coming up on the rumour mill, but I thought it'd be cool to ask the Dakka community what we'd like to see for the 6th edition Ork codex. This can be in terms of models you'd like to see re-modelled and re-kitted (admittedly, this would apply to any of the outdated, non-plastic stuff, but whats important is what you want to see), as well as any fancy ideas for new units, or old units you'd like GW to bring back.
As for me, Ill get the ball rolling:
Plastic kits: I'd love some MANz redone in plastic the most, followed by a plastic Warboss (on bike) kit perhaps. Have also wanted to have the buggies/trakks redone, but with how fragile Ork vehicles are, Im not sure anymore lol.
New units: Keeping in theme with GW's recent trend of "big flashy toys", I think it'd be neat to see Forge World's Big Squiggoth released in plastic as a Codex unit. Not the Gargantuan ones, only the ones that are a lil bigger than a Leman Russ tank. Would keep in theme with the Orks, since they play a part in Ork warfare, and would give the Orks a neat MC to ride around on. Also, something like ThunderSquig Cavalry would be neat  Only Orks would be crazy enough to ride something like that as cavalry into battle.
Fluff: The fluff for Orks is fantastic, and I hope they dont do anything to change it. However I would like to see a shift in focus towards the other Clans other than the Goffs, such as the Snakebites

New plastic kits for MANz would be nice, as would a kit for flashgitz and deffkoptas. A squiggoth of some form would be really cool, too.
I would like to see more characters ala the SM codex, and some more plain wacky units. Thundersquig cav sounds fun, bringing snotlings to 40k could be interesting, bringing back pulsa rokkits and minders for the weirdboyz for old timers, and rokks as a form of drop pod for the orks.

-I second (and third) the plastic meganobz, and squig cavalry unit too, let the snakebite klan get some love.
-A plastic kit for the tankbustas would make me happy. I cringed when I saw them in pricey finecast boxes of five when they're best fielded 10-15 strong. Oh well, easy enough to convert.
-Orky buildings! Humie stuff is easy to plaster with glyphs, but the battlements are too weedy for our big unit sizes to use. I think I'll get my wish here, as there's rumors of 'Ork gunfortress/tellyporta fortress' flying around. I gotta say, a fortification that helps to deep strike units elsewhere on the board sounds like fun.

-Trukks' cargo capacity increased.
-Mek Junkas introduced as chariots, maybe.
-Wargear options for MANz
-Some special rule/character that lets orks charge from reserves.
-Warbike points costs lowered.
-Revise the Zapp gun rules.
-Guntrukks.
-Ogryn mercenaries.
- Squiggoths!

1: Cost modifications almost across the board.
2. A boost to the basic choppa (I'm thinking the target gets -1 to their armour save)
3. Plastic Meganobz. Buggies and similar models redone, plastic kit for at least one type of warboss (Megaboss, Biker Boss, or Foot Boss).
4. A couple of new toyz to play with.
5. More special characters.

Rules:
-Put. The waaaagh. Back.
-snikrot's boyz exchange "appear any board edge" to "may charge from reserve"
-Arch Arsonist special character
-Squiggoth unit as heavy MC
-Greater focus on bringing Melee back into 6th Ed. Both orks and tyranids need some kinda buffs to their krumpin' capacity.
Models
-Manz, flash got bits in a nob box (or even better, a freebootas box usable as nob or git) , deffkoptas, zogwart, wazdakka, etcetcetc. Basically finish the last dang codex.
-MPPK warboss and Big Mek with all or most available upgrades.
-Nob bikers on big Harley style trikes.
And I'd be happy as a clam.

Also, I'd like to take REAL looted vehicles and looted weapons for my death skullz boyz not the stupid crap they invented because the roolz boyz were upset at getting whooped by a certain person's orks on a regular basis  .

I'd want Weirdboys to be switched over to the elites slot, similar to Sanguinary Priests, in that you get 1-3 for one Elite slot, each independent characters. Show them some love! Nobody is using them in HQ.
Also, make it so that Waaagh! causes all assaulting units for the turn to be counted as rolling a 12 on their assault, and all running units count as having rolled a 6.

Some great ideas here. Mine (including some duplication of above):
1. Make WAAAAGH really good again, somehow. At the moment all I really use it for is a turn of double-shooting on my Dakkajet.
2. Options to field squigs and snotlings, and hopefully some plastics to go along. A snot box similar to the recent nurgling kit would be fantastic.
3. Bring back choppa rules! Maybe it was too good before, but tweak it somehow.
4. More distinction among clanz. I've seen some fandexes with equivalents of the Red Paint Job for other clanz. Or if not that, maybe some special rules or wargear (probably only accessible for nobz) to distinguish units of boyz. Perhaps Furious Charge could be a Goff thing, and other clanz would get different special rules (Stealth for Blood Axes, maybe?).
5. Maybe this is just me, but I would love a box of scenic Orkoids. Just a bunch of grots, snots, squigs, and mushrooms in amusing poses (the mushrooms would probably not be as amusing) that I could use to decorate infantry bases and vehicles.
6. A non-character HQ Painboy.

Gimme a warboss kit like what the space marine captain and chaos lord get. I can always make one from the AoBR kit but I'd like a warboss box just for all the bitz it'd probably have.
Give us the option to loot other vehicles. I want to take an ork deathstrike
Need some rokks for deepstriking, and maybe tellyportas for manz or something similar.
Some more options for a boyz mob, like burnaz or maybe even the ability to add a nob for every 10 boyz (so a 30 strong mob could have 2 or 3 nobz if you wished) to give us a way to get around the challenge sniping.
And more options for warbikes would be awesome. For example, one out of every 5 bikes may take a twin linked KMB, rokkit launcha, or big shoota instead.
And maybe make the big choppa AP 4.

Wants:
More plastic models in general, but MANz/ an HQ kit would certainly be on the top of that list, alongside new kopter and buggy models
Squiggoth as the mandatory big kit. A MC with a transport and perhaps the "Attacks= models in base contact" rule
More power to the generic HQs! Not necessarily on the same level as combat tactics or marks, but something that gives a palpable effect a warboss can use on his army (like Warlord traits, but not stupid and lolrandom)
Give Meks something cool, like a sabatage or an overclocking ability. I deffinately want teleportas as an option
Make the Waaagh! fearsome again! Maybe like the 3rd edition version
Give trukks access to everyone. There isn't really much of a reason not to at this point
Better looted wagons
Do not wants:
Animosity. For the love of all the gods, fictional or otherwise, don't give us animosity
Boar boys. I really want to avoid the whole "hur hur, fantasy in space" thing, especially since it could easily be done with count as warbikers, and now there's very little difference between cavalry and bikes anyway

Came on this morning and it seems Natfka posted some new Ork rumours. Seems all very interesting, and surprisingly fluffy.
Also wanted to add: I hope they make it so Snikrot can assault from reserves again. He's been strangely absent in my army lists lately, which is a shame cause the Snikrot model was the reason why I chose to play Orks (among others).

I want the old 2nd Edition Ork transport rules: the vehicle could carry as many Orks as you could physically pile onto it, but if any fell off, they took a wound based on how far the vehicle moved.

Im actually pretty content with the current codex. Id just like to see it updated with probably lower points and a better WAAAGH.
Plastic Meganobz and a bikerboss kit. and a megaboss kit
Id like burnas to be a little more durable or for flashgitz to be elite.
A better walker. Right now theres no reason to take kanz or deffdreads.

After having read through these comments (there's some neat ideas here), I'd also like to see the Waaagh! mechanics fixed for our Codex. Perhaps the mechanic can be changed depending on the unit, like it is for the Dakkajet? For example, Lootas roll an automatic 3 on the D3 on a Waaagh turn, Kommandos get to assault from reserves, etc.
