I wondered what kind if cool twists people have come up with or carried out on there armies. Some things I came up with are an enslaved imperial guard army for orks, or a harlequin themed regiment inspired by the 'Jokers' from the book Legion. So what about you?

Highly Experimental/Salvaged Weapons Imperial Guard regiment under the command of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

A 'lost' Space Hulk Hive... based and painted somewhat old Genestealer style colour scheme. :-)

Dagon worshipping pre fall eldar (DE), being trolled by Nurgle.

Basically apocalypse cult DE with an aquatic theme.

Diablo 1/2 themed Daemon/CSM army with lots of goat men, butchers, bigass devils, etc etc.

A total force concept army of the imperium.

My theme for my Tau is Battered down Farsight enclave, muddy, scortched and dirty.

My Tyranids are Black with Desert ish shells.

My Cadians have blue UN helmets.

I'm building up a Nurgle CSM warband led by one "Lord Pyros Deathwish".
He's my Typhus.

And my Zombies are Orks.

You see, what with those greenskins being so numerous 'n all, it was only a matter of time before Nurgle started reanimating their corpses

Currently working on the obvious Exodite eldar

Cold one's as jet bikes and surprisingly enough terradon's as vypers (got spare Cold one parts to help tie them together to feel like bulkier evolved forms)

A group of maniacal space marines created by the Admech as sort of 'personal attack dogs' they were highly impressionable and went completely bugshit crazy after a battle with the Orks, reasoning that the whole 'more Dakka' thing was an awesome idea (though they don't speak like Orks) so they have an absurd gun-lust, as well as an obsession with heavy weaponry.

An ork klan led by an immensely stupid shouta-boss with the grand goal of deafening the entire galaxy with his noise.

I am not that into 'nids, but it sounds really fun thinking about that stuff. The idea of tyranids with random tentacles, spikes and eyes sounds pretty fun to paint.

I'd like a group of optimistic Necrons that just want to explore the galaxy, but for some reason these guys with HUGE shoulders keep shooting at them!

Sounds pretty cool! I've always wanted to do a Kaiju-themed army but I always consider Nidzilla boring and against armies with a lot of high-strength high-AP weapons Nidzilla fails.

My armies aren't that original, but are themed nicely imo.

Tanith First guard, modeled and army listed fluffily. Will probably add a small SM allied contingent once they're done. Would also like to do accurate Pardus armour and Phantine air allies but that's pretty expensive since the 8 Russes and 2 bassies I have are all for chaos.

Chaos/Renegade Guard: Beastman guard from one world, chaosified DKK toxic world guard from another world, both under the control of a homemade chaos warband which I have yet to decide on. To be run as IG + allied chaos, Chaos + allied IG, Apocalypse and Renegades and Heretics lists.

About to start a Blood Ravens army once DGS launches their SM army deals. Planning on picking up a lot of Librarians so I can run 4 Librarians in double FoC, or even more in Apocalypse.

I have WW2 themed orks including German troops, red devil kommandos with stenguns and Luftwaffe jets.

My vostroyabs are going to be the start of an AdMec army with lots of robots counting as orgyns and sentinals plus some weird and wonderful weapon platforms

My Chaos Space Marine force is 'aquatic' themed, with lots of heavy diving suits, airtanks, submersibles as vehicles. A '20,000 leagues' Nautilus as a Heldrake. Bioshock style brutes in suits stand in as Spawn.

The allied Nurge daemons have Fenris miniatures 'Deep Ones' as plague bearers, their ogryn sized deep ones as beasts of nurgle and Dagon as Great Unclean One.

All with sandy/rock bases with starfish, coral, seaweed etc.

More conventionally, a Space Marine army with WWI/II British feel. Gasmask heads and british army helmets, sten and bren style boltguns and lots of boxy slab sided vehicles.

My Space Marines are an Iron Hands successor who went renegade when they discovered that their forge world home was actually also a tomb world.
They decided that the 'crons were the embodiment of the Omnissiah, the epitome of purged flesh, so they allied themselves with the Necrons utterly. As such the models have loads of Necron bitz stuck on. Praetorian spines really fit well on the back of Terminators if you make Lychguard. Lovely spine above the Marine's head

The bikes are indeed vultures, the buggy is a Hellion and the skimmer a diamondback. I also have a Goliath, siege tank and a dropship. Pics in my gallery and in the Terranwing link in my sig below.

Fundamentally its a mixture of falcon turret, land speeder and the old IG dozer blade support struts.

I'm painting the clothes on my first batch of Daemonettes gold. Ecstasy of gold after all. Thinking of doing all my Slaanesh daemons like that.

I mostly plan currently and maybe manage to do the actual battle-groups at some later event (most likely after years). Anyways... ideas I have but no models, but latter will be slowly fixed.

Current project: Violethian Regiments. Night camouflage. (Night-world with mushrooms emitting dim violet light) Black armor with Violet in unstructured patterns. Unlike Mordians who walk in darkness in utter parade uniforms, Violethian regiments actually uses the night camouflage to better hide themselves at night times.

Tau Alien Auxiliary. A overconfident Ethereal leads a coalition of Tau allies into battle with only minimum support from Tau itself. He's adamant that even the aliens are able to bring the greater good to galaxy and he gives the opportunity to these unheard souls. Tau cadre with Kroot and Vespid as main force. Allied Gue'vesa (IG) battle-group (Only ethereal and two units of Fire Warriors (his personal guard) are currently done).

Planned Projects: Oceanic World Regiment. Various blue hues to bend in with the watery surroundings. Idea of the army is to make amphibious assaults on archipelago-like land masses. Might "borrow" Muddypaw's idea for storm troopers if he won't mind (the heavy diving suits part). :3
Pinkiez Boys! Overlord Pinkie who forces all his boys to wear pink armor (reasons I will not tell on this thread). He usually keeps headbutting any nob who refuses to go along this order.
