Can you post the cave one too? This one isn't as good or scary as the cave exploring one.

A lot of creepypastas are infinitely scarier than anything Hollywood is putting out these days. Google SCP foundation and read some of the SCP entries. A lot of them are incredibly well written with lots of extras to flesh out the backstory.

Scp 096 ("shy guy"), SCP 682 (hard to destroy reptile), and SCP 106 (radical larry) are all great and terrifying.

Especially when interactions between scps get explored. Like 343 (I think, it's the god one), who says he created everything and is literally god, turns out to be scared of 682 and has no recollection of it.

Out of all the creepypasta I've ever read, that one is definitely by far the stupidest.

The caving blog one is a million times creepier.

Heck, the skinwalker stories /k/ and /out/ have been kicking out are scarier than the OP one

You're kind of not supposed to know that it's a creepypasta when you click on it, but what the heck.

All I know is that it's better than the Russian Sleep experiment.

Any of you fine gents care to explain what a creepypasta is to those of us who don't spend all our time on the internet? I'll likely google it anyway, but its the thought that counts

"Copypasta" is something that get's copied and pasted across forums and imageboards for months or years at a time. It can be funny, stupid, a meme, or, in the case of "creepypasta", scary stories.

Stuff like Slenderman, the really creepy as hell Spongebob and Disney "lost films", the recent fad of "skinwalkers", and stories like "Ted the caver" and "the Russian Sleep Experiment", are all examples of Creepypasta.

I think the term originated on 4chan's /x/ board, but it could easily have started on Something Awful. There's a massive creepypasta thread on the Escapist that contains a lot of the classics if you want to read some. You can find it here http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.211546-The-scary-thread?page=1

Beware, 95% of all Creepypasta is complete crap. The other 5% will keep you up at night.

Ah, thanks for that! Also, thanks to Dogofwar for mentioning the SCP thing, I came across that site some time ago but forgot what it was called and hadnt been able to find it since.

Did I miss something on the cave creepypasta? It just ends after the dude says hes going back in (I imagine this is supposed to imply that he's dead, killed by the Hodag or whatever) but I really don't see what makes it scary...? I guess thats the bit about how you're not supposed to know its fake...

The SCP site kind of went to crap not too long ago sadly. People started getting egos based on how popular their articles had become and Mary Sue SCP's started running rampant. The one that's an invincible killing machine that hunts down anyone who sees it's face being one of the biggest offenders.

Good news is a lot of the old articles are still saved on the site and remain unedited. This one by far was my favorite. http://www.scp-wiki.net/document-recovered-from-the-marianas-trench

There are definitely some good and unnerving SCP's. Some of my favourites are 093 (stone that turns mirrors into portals to another world, read through ALL the materials), 087 (stairway that seems to go down forever), 231 (this tries a little too hard on the "we do awful things for a reason" angle, but I like it all the same), and 354 (blood lake that horrors crawl from, along with an expedition into it: Hint: it's doesn't go well). Oh, and The Personal Log of Agent AA

Others, like 294 (vending machine that can produce almost anything) and 914 (machine that can improve or disassemble anything) aren't creepy, but they are a ton of fun to read. And the one that's a living animated girl on a piece of paper, that goes some fun places.

There's one about killing reality benders that's pretty awesome.

That was good dude, I was using the bathroom after reading that and heard a noise from my tub and was too freaked to check at first. Turns out it was my kids talking next to the wall behind the tub and their voices echoing off the tub

first im I found this was a few years ago (I would have been eleven), anyway, being the blooming crazy person that I was (and probably still am) I immediately became convinced that the "cave-thing" was going to "steal my flesh" still don't know why I thought that.

Not going to lie, most of these "creepypasta" things don't really do much for me (I appreciate what went into them and quite a few are very well written, they just...don't scare me for some reason). The only one I ever read that actually got to me was the Rogue Tulpa one...still have a shiver over that sometimes.

We have one of those crawlspaces under our house. It comes up through a trapdoor in my bedroom closet

Not going to lie, if a monster appeared in my closet it would probably look around, decide I'm too crazy to be worth terrorizing, and go home.

Not going to lie, and I'm sure some of you will think I'm 100% certifiably insane, but I have been in a couple messed up freaky situations that someone could write one of these stories about (no I'm not saying I wake up with monsters sitting on my bed). After that reading about creepy stuff doesn't pack the same punch.

For some reason the crawlspace pic doesn't show anything to me. All I see is black. Then again, I'm on my phone.

Someone photoshoped a monster face in at a really low contrast level. The backlight on my monitor needed to be slid up a bit to see it.
