With Christmas just around the corner it's time to update your online Gift List to make sure you get the gifts you want this year. Do it before 15th November and you could win a £50 (or local currency equivalent) Virtual Gift Voucher!

The Gift List Competition is really straightforward: create a Gift List online, send it to us and we will select 5 lucky winners at random. Each winner will receive a £50 voucher to spend at games-workshop.com.

So how does it work?

You must be registered with us in order to create a Gift List; just sign in and access Gift Lists from the centre of your My Games Workshop page. Then simply add the gifts that you want this year and email it to all of your friends and family. It's also worth making it publicly searchable just in case your relative walks into one of our stores to buy your gift.

If you are not already a registered user of the site, register here. You don't want to miss out on your chance to win.

To enter this competition send your Gift List to santa@gwplc.com by 15th November 2013. Full terms and condition are below.

On 18th November 2013 we'll pick 5 Wish Lists at random and if you are one of the lucky winners we will email you your virtual vouchers. Whether you spend these on yourself, or someone else is entirely up to you. Just be sure to update your gift list accordingly if you do treat yourself!

To summarise:

1. If you are not already a registered user of the site, register here.

2. Once you've registered and signed in, create a Gift List and add everything you want to it.

3. Send your wish list to your friends and family

4. Then send it to santa@gwplc.com

Five lucky winners will have £50 of virtual vouchers to spend before Christmas. Now that's what we call a great present!

Best of Luck!

best of luck folks !

If you don't like free stuff, don't sign up for it.

This just proves my free puppies theory. Geeze.

It's not really free. They get your wishes which is good information for them. By this they can get an extremely cheap overview of what people want.

I put fake wishes on my list. My tin foil hat ensures what I really want stays secret. No way GW gets a cheap overview from me.

Yea, I'm not seeing the whole "not really free" aspect of this, either.

I think I see it now.

GW can now know exactly what kits you want, so next time you go into the store their employees can just have those items on the shelf. You then think "What luck!" and buy them...all the while GW is cackling, for you've fallen right into their web of deceptive intriguery!

Kirby could drive round to your house in a gold-plated limo filled with money, then give you the keys and walk off. I would bet the limo that someone would claim "It's not free...".

He means it's not free because you're conducting market research for them.

Oh we get it. We just think that's dumb. You pay nothing. You can make a fake wishlist. If you are chosen, you get a gift certificate.

Heck, even with a real wishlist, it is still free because telling them what you want costs nothing but 5 minutes to setup an account and create a wishlist.

If that's true, then it's counter to the statements people make of GW never conducting market research.

but they already have all the sales data.

Nah, this is more about getting folks to register (so they have your email) and getting them to do a GW direct wish list rather than another company or (gasp horror) another game/hobby entirely.

On the positive side, by e mailing a wish list to your family they know what to buy you from a discounted online retailer and you may still get a voucher from GW for free stuff.

I already keep a wish list on GW's site to help keep track of things I want. A few clicks and a chance to win is no skin off my nose. And if people don't want to enter, it just boosts my odds of walking away with a prize.

I don't really see how this can be constructively criticised. It's a simple marketing gimmick, what a tragedy.

Well it's trying to get you to set up a wishlist and send it to your family, so they'll buy stuff for you from GW's website.

But if you want GW stuff for Christmas that's fair enough. I've sent them one as I ain't going to turn down a £50 voucher, if I win I might even get the Hobbit Starter for the scenery and hobbits

The only thing better than winning the 50 pounds would be to have GW print Ijaz Fahted on their site. Maybe the winner will be Timmy from spanker County.

You probably have to be at least 12 to win. Sorry...
