I used to, but after grinding it out with a boring 4th edition codex for years, I found the new codex to be underwhelming, so I dumped them on eBay. I really liked the Deathwing and the Knight models, but the codex still felt underwhelming to me compared to the likes of the BA and SW ones and the distinct identity those armies get from their codex.

I have an Epic Dark Angels army, 5 full companies.

As in, 6mm Epic scale, not that I think the army is 'epic'. Though it is.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I have a self-made Successor-Chapter Deathwing. At the moment it's sadly only 18 models strong but it was quite fun to build and I really enjoy painting the iconography.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

Angels of Despair- interesting. Though if you don't mind me saying- sounds a touch Chaos-y

This is actually intended

It's a chapter of borderline-heretics with only the deathwing upholding the ideals of the imperial creed.

Dark Angels here, 1st and 5th Companies.

Most of my armored vehicles are ancient patterns based on the venerable Rhino Mk I chassis, so perhaps I should have chosen Consecrators, but by the time I learned of the chapter's existance half of my army was already painted in Dark Angels colors.

Depending on how big your army is, you could always go and strip them then repaint in black? All Dark Angels successors chapters use similar heraldry to their original Chapter.

I tried them as a switch from my Tau, I still break them out occasionally, but only to keep my gaming group on their toes. I have a pretty small force, just the DV set + a very few extras, but my group is very loose on proxying so I use my friends wolves or even CSM to fill in when I need them.

I had some Dark Angels way, way back and I've just started painting up the Dark Vengeance miniatures and plan to get some of those pretty spiffy Deathwing; as they also have lots of bits for converting with. A project I would like to attempt in the future is some kind of warp Lion monster type thing to represent a beast of ancient Caliban.

Heh, it's not that large, really, so that may work. But I've ended up growing attached to the Angels. Besides, the Deathwing terminators may be my best paintjobs to date

Just leave the Termis as is. There are no clear rules how the successors handle the color of the wings

The Redeemed.

Former Fallen and disgruntled DA loyal to the Lion > The Imperium. The bulk of which are converts from the original "traitors" who had the nerve to love and follow the lion over the Emperor.

Lots of work put into it but this pretty much sums it up. They are loyalists and purist to Caliban and to their Primarch Lion El Johnson and they feel betrayed by those brothers who turned on them to embrace and favor those DA who are Terran born.

Going with a clash of ideals between the two factions. I explain it in better detail in the topic I made a few days ago.

Was going to say, it doesn't really matter about Deathwing since most of them wear the bone white armour (I think there's one successor chapter that doesn't but I can't remember which one)

Feel free to exalt- would be interesting to see the demographic on here

DA are my first army from 2002. Actually split some out to create a BA army.
Still my favorite army altho my Necrons were right up there before they got all complicated with their new codex.

Here is my Saber Claw for Sammael

I play mine as a chapter of my own making called the Iron Eagles, mostly Ravenwing stuff. I am currently nearing completion of my Sableclaw converted from a LSS that is fully enclosed, with larger winglets, quad-assault cannons mounted on weapon pods on tge sides and a HB/ML combi-weapon under the nose.
