Bring both fantasy and 40k? Am I reading it right in that they would want me to bring an army for either system? It might be a case of slightly broken English, a few things seem strange. I can't even find what TSHFT means.

Glad to see tshft back. Excited to assemble my army and start practicing. One of the consistently most enjoyable tournaments I've been to.

What's the attendance like at this?

Friend of mine said he paid the $60 for one of the TSHFT events just to learn there was around12 people at the event.

No way I'm paying to travel let alone the $60 entry for the equivalent of a local RTT.

Interesting, I hope that work doesn't have me traveling for this, it might be time to sharpen up my Fantasy again.

The TSHFT Open is their main 'GT style' event that they have put on once a year since 2013. It has a pretty good draw in comparison to any other event they run over the course of the year (which can vary depending on venue, game system etc). I went to the Open in 2013 and it had 50ish people for 40k? Probably more. Also had pajama pants Alan from team america and the frontline guys were there hanging out that year, so they draw guys you won't likely see at an RTT. It was worth the trip for me (5 hour drive over the pass in the winter). Didn't go last year but the frontline gaming guys attended again. Not sure on attendance, I think it was about the same though. Link below has FLG coverage

http://www.frontlinegaming.org/tag/tshft/

Should note also that with it being on the ITC this year they should get a bump in attendance as well. Info on ITC below

Your friend was likely at the tshft in Vancouver BC this past year? That was about a dozen. He tshft opens for the past couple years have been right around fifty I think, and the emerald city slaughter tournament has been closer to eighty I believe? Just my interpretation of the numbers.

Hey guys. There is a tshft practice tournament for 40k on November 16th at card kingdom in Ballard. BAO rules and all 1850, all the same force org set up as everyone else. 10 dollar entry. Currently here are only eight spots available, although the search for more tables is underway, and the longer he wait list gets, the more effort will be put into finding more. Contact card kingdom to sign up or get on the list.

Cheers.

The fantasy numbers are smaller but the 40k runs between 50-80. I will be at this event. this event pulls some good players and is a great test of your 40k skill. Seapheonix that ballard event is tempting but I am headed to Spokane the week before for the Harvester of souls.

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to point out that I have been to a TSHFT open in the past and it was a great time. Zen is a super cool dude and the people that where attending the event where awesome. I was a outsider coming from Chicago to Seattle for the first time and I knew Franky and Reece but the rest of the crew was a new group and they where very welcoming.

The missions where fun, rules questions where handled well and the vent in general was a awesome time... I did win the raffle which helped make it more exciting....

I would recommend the trip and if you decide to come I will see you there since its probably going to be my first tournament in 2015.

Excellent, now I know what to prepare against for when I meet you at the top table. Mwah hah hah. Errr when. I play you in the first round for my first awesome loss.

Actually since the first game is often choose your opponent, tshft central, can I call dibs on challenging Jy2 and his necrons right off the bat? I would love the challenge of putting myself against the best.

I'm ok with it if they are. Beats playing against my teammates, whom I play against constantly anyways. Last tournament I went to, I played a fellow Team0Comp member for each of my 3 games! Lol.

As for the best, don't know about that. There's Reece, Frankie, InControl, the FrenchOverlord, pajamapants, Ben Cromwell, Ben Schmoller, a lot of very good players (and these are just the ones I know of). Gonna be a tough battle for everyone there.

If you guys come under a team name they do a real good job of avoiding match ups with your regular gamers. Barring top table end of the tourney stuff.

Just don't use married guys in space, that team name is taken.

Jy2 and Frankie both lost first round.

Sean Morgan took first place with taudar and Ben Cromwell took second with eldar.

The tournament was crawling with nids. A ton of flyrants and hierodules. Plenty of knights as well.

With very little terrain two lists that have 4 wave serpents took first and second.. At the hands if fantastic generals that combo is very deadly (which Sean and Ben both are). Not taking away from them but it's frustrating to play against when you have very little defense outside of hoping to make way above average rolls :( LoS blocking terrain and simply more terrain is what makes it less of a shooting gallery and more of a battle IMO!

Saw multiple reports of very sparse terrain. Guess it was really that bad. Kinda surprised that a long time tourn still has this issue.

The terrain was a bit weak on some of the tables. It was really hit or miss. Some of the cityscape-themed tables seemed to have a good amount of multi-level ruins with some LoS blocking features, while others had a couple of trees and some small mounds with zero LoS blocking pieces. All of the tables I wound up playing on had really thin terrain, which was a change from last year. I still had a lot of fun though.

My son brought his Tyranids, but no Hierodule. I think he told me he counted 11 of them. And I saw at least three Nid armies without a Hierodule. I was one of only two Daemon players.

yeah there was no tables with big LOS blocking terrian.
I took 5 khorne walkers and they were always visible on all my tables.
I took home the My Little pony card game for scoring 2 battle points.

I also picked up a box of seekers in the raffle. Reese scored the cruise ticket in the Raffle.
I had a fun weekend. I didn't expect to win most of my games but winning none was tough.

Ouch sounding worse by the moment, terrain really makes or break assault armies.
