Two week window to get orders in. They warn it's like made to order deal so they might have to cast more then they currently have in stock.

And, interestingly, they're not supplying the right base for the HWT.

They never have for the Steel Legion missile launcher.

This is flagging up for me that the Plastic Krieg might well be coming out on their own sooner rather than later then.

And essentially will be the default kit for 'gas mask' guard.

RIP Steel Legion, they did damn fine service over 20 odd years.

I thought they'd appeared as a Made to Order, given they are in the Pre-Order area.

I guess if Death Korps of Krieg are getting more plastic kits GW felt they don't need to sell Steel Legion any more.

The thing that always was intriguing about me, was why did they pick this particular metal kit for sale when they discontinued all other ones. I mean there had to be a very specific reason, yeah?

The moulds lasted longer than the other moulds? Or it simply sold better than Vostroyans, Mordians, Tallarns, etc...

Who knows why GW do anything?

They must've made those moulds out of titanium alloy if they lasted 21 goddamn years.

Yes, they're from 2000, the same edition as the current Cadians and Catachan kits.

The Vostroyans are / were newer than Steel Legion. 2006 I believe.

But yes, most of the metal Imperial Guard were released in 2nd edition.

At ease, Steel Legion. Damn shame to see 'em go, one of the cooler guard regiments for sure.

Sad news. Steel legion were the first 40k kit I ever bought. Made the transition from flames of war easier as they were basically straight up German WW2 paratroopers...

Armageddon? They had rules in Shadow War and it's a rather iconic conflict.

Well, the squad was sold for 64,90 Deutsche Mark 21 years ago - that's 33,18€. 'Now' it's 30€ - not that bad for two decades.

Its a shame to see it go, but at least they are giving people a chance to get it rather than just silently vanishing it like they did with all the other regiments. Now I need to decide if I should get 1 or 2 more for the road.

They disappeared a little while ago. The Armageddon Steel Legion fb group was all super sad.

They actually are about a few years older than the Cadians (Eye of Terror came out well after Armageddon) but about roughly the same age as the plastic Catachans, give or take 6 months.
