I have been building Imperial Guard terrain for a awhile now and have completed some large projects. It has been a good two years since I have completed a project and I have now started a number of projects that have been waiting commencement. First of I will show you some of my completed major projects. I have completed a full city build, industrial complex, Cadian base and airfield.

I have completed a number of projects over Xmas that I will post here later.

I decided to build a large Basilica or Genertorian using a number of Pegasus gothic buildings. It got out of hand some what. This was this biggest terrain piece I had attempted but it worked and needed it's own board in the end. It even ended up with a tiled floor and internal pillars. The MK3 Mars Pattern Leman Russ shows the scale of this terrain piece. You could have a kill team game in it.

Specking of Kill Team, just completed one of the kits. I got it mainly for the the scatter terrain it provided and I wanted the containers for another project. I'm a fan of scatter terrain as it provides cover in the game and they can tell small stories as well. I have lots of stuff on pallets as you would expect in IG terrain. Also, I have a lot of objective markers that are very much for use of IG forces. The next lot of pictures are of the completed kit.

The terrain bases I am using are Secret Weapons urban and damaged urban streets. They were really easy to complete and I have about 64 sections of roads and city landscape painted up. My table is 4' x 6' in size and these fit well on it.

This next completed piece is the GW Plasma Generators which I have connected four together and placed on a base similar to all my Cadian terrain bases. I had this kit half completed for over two years and took a day to complete it. Added some tech priest to make it look authentic.

Great terrain Colonel Jacka. Is that Old Crow and Armor Cast pieces I see on the boards.
I have a ton of that sitting in boxes still waiting to be put together. I hope to see more.

TG18,

Yes they are Old Crow wheeled vehicles and Armour Cast industrial bits of various types like the pipes and silo bases for example. I used a lot of the Old Crow 6x6 vehicles to fill the GW gap in this type of vehicle.

When I had completed the major terrain builds I thought I was lacking something. The boards needed a train. A train is a very big terrain piece and would really add to my urban terrain. I stated looking for a Gothic Train and quickly found these on Esty. They are a bit soap blocky but are easy to paint (dry brush) and they are a good scale. There is a number of different carriages and loads as well. I have a basic set and will be adding more flat trays carriages.

A simple dry brush and they are ready to use. The tracks took a bit more work. I used timber to make a raised bed for the tracks. I graveled the timber and dry brushed with good results. I will need about another three feet of track. All of the carriages and locomotive come with two track pieces. There is a lot of track pieces available. Here is the link for the site.

When I started my terrain project one of the aims was to build a full Cadian defended camp which as you can see is finished. The centre pice was a very large Bastion of two stories high. I built this out of four Bastion kits and some kit bashing bits to make it work. It was a big project and I completed it in Jul 19. I had plans to use the left over Bastion parts and the Skyshield Landing Pad to build an add on to the man building. The plan was to make a cantilever Landing Platform to attach to it. Here is the main Bastion and the start of the Landing Pad.

The problem was I had to make sure that the tower would not over balance once the cantilevered landing pad was added. So I had to make a very strong piece of plastic engineering. This was to be added to the base of the Skyshield and attached overhanging he flat roof of the Bastion. It had to take the weight of a resin IG Vulture and a plastic Valkyrie without tipping over.

Fortunately it worked and I did not have to counter weight the Bastion itself. I added a new hatch and elevator which would run down the centre of the Bastion and the rear of aircraft for a bit of realism.

The idea of a full camp in terrain is so so sweet really! Hope someone out there has got the idea to do it with other factions as well.

Great job anyway!

Thanks.

These next pictures are the completed Bastion piece. I have used the GW containers as corridors between the main Bastion and the Shyshield landing pad as these marry right up the the doors I am thinking of joining another room to the piece .

Mate I got them from Micro Art Studio. The Radar Station and generator in the rear corner are also Micro Art. Unfortunately they may be discontinued now. Here is the link anyway:

This is a brilliant showcase of terrain projects mate. You've got a really wonderful and characterful collection here!

I love the extra thicc bastion in particular. Also loving the mix of old and new school IG minis here with the goblin green bases tying them together.

Would love to play a game against them on any of these boards!

Thanks for the great comments. You are right about the mix of IG figures. All the Ogryns are the original Bob Ollie ones and most of my Commissars are the first IG ones. About 100 Squats as well. New Cadians and old. All linked by the same uniform and vehicle colours and some brilliant goblin green bases. LOL!

Looks like we had the same general concept there with the Bastion. Bastion got lots of potential for kit bashing.
