She is a cool model.
I'm kind of impressed how her half track seems completely unique. I thought it was just a Centaur with a new ram, but the sides and hood are also different. I know she'll cost like $100 but I do want one. And 3 of the half tracks.
I don't have a guard army, but she is definitely enticing.

I really like Graves' vehicle - I think it looks very appropriate for a Commissar, and fits the Imperial Guard aesthetic. But the new half-track and armoured car just don't work for me. They don't belong visually with the Leman Russ. They are a better match with the Rogal Dorn, but while the RD is a mixture of different historical vehicles, these new models make almost no attempt to disguise their historical inspiration.

Agree both her and the new Yarrik make we want finally go forward with starting an imperial army.
7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.

I think that's because the Rogal Dorn was clearly most inspired by the Leman Russ.
Whereas the design team seemed to run out of ideas making these new ones and just fairly directly copied historical vehicles.
The Hippogryph is at least a bit more unique, if only because they've stuck a different turret on it which is a design motif the Halftrack necessarily doesn't have.
There's definitely a new curvier Guard aesthetic in town though. Can't say I like it tbh. I prefer the much heavier-industrial look of the slab plates and rivets. It's still there, but it's not as strong in the new kits.

After Orks and Marines will be Custodes, Tau, Dark Eldar.
Orks as one of the first Codex drops for the new edition. That in no way makes me feel good. It'll be 7th edition all over again. Orks get a codex and the players think ok the bar is set then the power creep rolls in and Orks get to be the faction everyone just beats up on all edition. Joy. Then Orks will get a supplement book or something and then that book will be rereleased and it wont even be corrected or provide any desired power up the Ork faction will need.
I have to say as a long time Ork enthusiast. Nothing. Nothing at all.
Everything old is new again. Such a shame.

I hope they completely redesign the crisis suits. They have held me back from getting a Tau force as they look really bad and outdated but are such a core unit that it is hard to omit them.
cuda1179 wrote: Dark Eldar are getting new Vect on Dias, but no slave girls this time.
That's easy enough to fix.
Ok, I'm intrigued. Where are you sourcing your slave girls?

The underlined part is a given and not just because GW is lame. The original slaves weren't topless either.

If I had to guess I'd expect the new Crisis suits and Broadsides to come for no other reason than to bring them in line with the rounder, beefier look of recent suits like the stealth suits, twins and Shadowsun.

The Razorback is in the same kit as the Rhino though. If the Rhino is safe, the Razorback likely is too, unless they replace the current kit with one with fewer sprues.

Actually.... there were two different sculpts of those slave girls. Most of them sold were not topless.....BUT, there was a topless version also.

We know it's not the Rhino, and I'm going to make an educated guess that it's not the Predator. What if they made all units 10-man? Razorbacks would be of no use then. I'm personally hoping it's the Whirlwind, as I don't own one. If it is the razorback..... well, I guess I'm replacing a lot of turrets with round hatches.

Previous rumours state a new rhino is coming for 40k.

Vindicator and Whirlwind have dual use with 30k, though they have their own models.
This is exactly why I fear it will be them. Someone could proxy 30K models in 40K and vice versa, and we cannot have that!
I really hope it is not the Vindicator, as it looks really distinctive and is the only tracked marine tank I currently have painted for my chapter. But it is going to be the Vindicator.

No worries. I didn't mean to shoot the messenger.
Mostly I've just been musing if GW ever brought back the Dais of Descruction, whether it would end up all business or if there's still some place on it for a party. Might be a new take on the old slaves, or courtiers like the flying vampire thingy from Fantasy, or whatever. For a while GW seemed fond of big leader on big base with mini diorama style centerpieces. I guess the rumor of mercenaries points to all business, though.
The two characters are up, the Throne of Blame forces battleshocks at -1 to all units within 6" and the Inquisitor has a gun that starts at S6 (anti-monster 2+) D2 with precision and gets a cumulative +2S and +2 dmg (up to 6 dmg max) each time it shoots.

The sister seems OK? The inquisitor seems kinda meh to me. Both have a targeted buff vs. a unit for everyone else in the army. The sister brings some firepower, while the mounted guy does not bring a lot to the table besides the buff.
Points are kinda relevent to see if they are worth the effort to bring.

cuda1179 wrote: Tau perhaps getting Crisis Suit refresh with added options. He also mentioned new Broadside suits (I thought those were fairly new?)
New Crisis is no surprise. They don't fit well in at all in 10th edition's extremely restrictive listbuilding.
Almost all loadouts combinations in the box are illegal, including the loadouts featured on the box cover. Moreover, one of the few loadouts which are legal, Sunforge, cannot be built out of a single box.
10e massacred this unit, and I hope the 11e refresh doesn't dumb down the physical build options... :(
