Glad you like the mug - the little details make all the difference! Colour wise I'm tempted to say red fading into purple on the background and golden yellow on the bird, but thats up to you - pm me if you like

no need to pm as your idea sound super! the detail is really not comparable with the first try anymore...looks like you aimed for the real thing and hit a bullseye^^, the mug will be a present for mywife and the colors you suggested would work quite well with her personal colorscheme^^

you doing a modern day dread would be a nice to wait for. from what material would you plan to work with? clay or the more modern day brownstuff and GS?

Dread looks good with the wash, can see it a bit clearer, nice job on the power fist.

Thanks Mr Angus they have been a pleasure to paint. I wish I had more creative power and more hours in the day for this project. I think I can safely say that the rest of the unpainted ones will keep my busy well into 2011.

Unfortunately we had to relocate from the volcano, HR were giving us grief about workers getting trapped in the Death Maze, and to be honest, the commute was a nightmare.

Hey Weety ,looks like the your popping em out of the oven one after the other now, if you excuse the pun. great work on finishing the dread it looks very much like the originals, maybe a little softer on the edges , but we all know squats are cuddely little buggers ! Its legs look really nice especially the feet.

@ Monkey , you mean they didnt install the lava boat with hover mode and custom gps units , what kind of cheapskate evil empire are you working for , tut tut tut.

Cool stuff here man! We have a lot of the same figures. I've got a squat laying around somewhere, and some old guardsmen and eldar too. Nostalgia is in some ways better than the superior plastic figures of today...

it is shiny but in a good way - the base I will probably try out a mat glaze on as its meant to be stone

this stargate looks really goo, you should consider giving that as a license to maximini or chapterhouse to produce them and be a rich modeler and drink your drinks in the hot sunset...
really i can imagine lots of people by that too. and because of the medium clay it will provide a good first "green" for casting...

Nice job, eyes and lascannon particularly effective.

Of course you'll add some freehand, if snyone deserves it, it's an entombed, honoured warrior chosen to fight on for the geezer on the golden lav after he should have died.

And then can we see him with the marines?

great idea for the lascannon end! It almost looks like a walking futuristic stone golem , its very subltly painted weety , and the addition of the purity seal really rounds things off! the eyes are so intense like they are buring a hole in my soul.

I am please with how it turned out - the slight roundedness of it is partly due to limitations in my technique and materials but I think it works in this context as the head is very rounded anyway and this compliments the shoulders and legs. Next time I make a vehicle I'm going to buy some plasticard so I have the ability to do proper right angles and entirely flat surfaces!!

i think he looks way awesome...and considering how you did eyes and lascanons i suggest when time allows you should do something that involves fire and lots of flames...i think you could pull that off quite nicley...
