Thanks for all of the well wishes, Dakkanauts! With the gradual adjustment to the new family arrangement and generous paternity leave in Denmark, the 104th got some lovin' today.

Got a whole ton done today: lots of random detail paiting on Chimeras, Sentinels, and LRBTs (though no pics). You know those little things that you just don't seem to get around to? Today I got around to it!

The Medusa is almost finished now. I'm still working on the gunner and platform accessories, and have a few lines to clean up, but she's pretty close.


Got a bit done on the astropath. I found a suitably creepy head after the unanimous encouagement to not do the "empty hood" look. Thoughts?


Worked on the Commissar also, but mostly just filling the failcast problems that I continue to discover. Turns out that he looks prett good from the front, and only upon the following viewpoint can one truly appreciate the garbage that Finecast really can be.

well i wasnt expecting an update from you for a while sir, but im happy it came, the medusa is badass, obviosly ... and i loev that astropath, he's just so awsome... although the commissar is one of my favorite models you have done as of yet, so im excited for him!

see?! hobby and family can coexists! it has been done^^ timeschedules just have to be planned cleverly^^ well of course your lil lady has to play the game if she wants to which in most cases she will refuse to^^ but still the theory lives on^^

the mdusa looks very good... free hand is simply stunning...(with the lot of "V"s i feel somehow invited^^)


the failcast...looks somehow like an advertisment to an anti- zit formula...

but the medal goes to the astropath...!! that is a creepy splendid combo! who could ask for more on this one? now i am intrigued since you managed the head so well what you come up next with the body...

Good to have you back man, that medusa is aces! deff digging the astropath. yea those little things add up and become i don't want toos real fast real quick then you end up in my position and not wanting to do anything :(. I'll get there eventually. again welcome back mate! and i hope the misses and the little misses are doing well.

One might even say symbiosis The rest of the astropath will be a bit harder. I'm not quite sure how to start filling in the robes. I'm leaning towards gluing a bunch of sprue in the void, and then GSing more somewhat shapeless robes...

I fell into a painting streak yesterday, but not much to show for it. It was more "set up the whole army and see which models need the most love" strategy, so not a lot of finished models to show, just less chaos black primer in the group shot

I've been thinking a lot about the Commissar and the Astropath.

Commissar: For a more grimdarky feel (and not a witchhunter with a new hat feel) I'm thinking about adding an aquila on his lapel and also on the front of his boots. With the hat, standard Vostroyan issue backpack thingy, and aquilas, I think that should do the trick. Thoughts? Anything I'm missing?

Astropath: The new "Illuminor Szeras" necron model is super sweet! I would love to add those spindly legs to my astropath. Then I saw that he was 140kr. On top of the 80kr I already spent on the Cairn Wraith, that would put my astropath at 220kr, or the same price as a chimera. Perhaps I'll try scratchbuilding some mech legs for the astropath. What do you guys think?

well you are a decent scratchbuilder. so i say give it a go and show us what happens. You already have the commisar right? if not the dkok looks pretty sweet and has the whole gas mask thing like some of the vostroyans. Eh looks like i have to reread you pages to find the commisar.
