Green glow done! Just need to touch up the silver, weather, base, and OSL.

It's hard to make Necrons look really interesting IMHO, but you did a great job making them look interesting. I like your color choice.

Thanks Shadows and Dust! The challenge is finding a scheme which has points of interest but isn't too visually complicated for what are at their core simple models (battle damage on the new warrior sculpts notwithstanding). I still iterate on how to do the purple panels.

Time for a break though; back to Tyranid land!

Gwyn,

Nice work on the Necrons.

Cheers,

Thanks CB! At this point they're pretty rote, but I find enough little areas to focus on to have fun on them.

Surprisingly these Tyranids are flying by. Just some detailing and basing left I think.

Thanks Mothsniper!

I normally do contrasting bases, but with 'nids that have a camouflaging scheme, it made more sense to put them in an environment where that scheme makes sense.

Moving on; Radukar the Wolf from Cursed City! My Soulblight scheme is going to be red and green (patterned after the box art for Radukar, but it does work well). Colour placement will be inspired by 18th century Russian military uniforms (which was clearly also the inspiration for Radukar's box art).

This is the pants almost done, and the green cloak started.

Good progress on the green cloak, and largely done the skin. Started the various leather items, and a start on the beard (though I think I'm gonna go change it from blonde to brown).

Few more highlights, starting the gold, starting the wolf. Skin is finished and bloody gashes done. Sword rust is started - I'll go over it with metallic so only the pitted area looks rusted out.

I'm loving this guy.

Thanks IHateNids! Every time I go back to it I think "you know what I can kick that boldness up a bit".

This round was dedicated mostly to fur, and finishing up the metallics.

Nice blog, Gwyn! Liking those Flesh Tearers especially. You'll be a true master of OSL when all those Necrons are done, lol.

My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

Nice work on the whites on that Radukar mini.
Is it that Apothecary white contrast?

Thanks graven! It's much better than previous cloaks I've done - I think part because I like my colour palette more for this cloak!

Thanks Adrassil! My OSL technique is still very primitive, but I find it effective enough for my purposes.

It is, with some light grey drybrushing and I think I did some thinned nuln oil in spots to change up the consistency.

I liked doing this vamp enough to do a second!

Great work Gwyn! Love the Necrons, you really brought out their damaged portions well.

That coconut crab scheme always looks good and you’ve done a great job on them.

The soul blight stuff is looking superb, Radukar looks to be one of your best yet!

Keep it up!

Thanks gobert! I hope this next vampire will be even better than Radukar - I think the cloak has a lot of promise, and I'm gonna have fun with this armour!

Loving the latest Vampire where is he from?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
