I just had a quick look at your web store... and I have to say...your presentation is even better than maxmini and the lot... the zoom function is really smooth... I think this makes surfing and buying so much more comfortable... the other have a zoom in function too...but with pop up frame... which annoys me no end... your´s not... A+ for style and useablity!!!

(what postage fee would have to be included to berlin by the way?...I can smell already an order brewing up just need to present the household leader an overall sum^^)

Thanks mate! Seems like all that time I spent studying ergonomics at university wasn't wasted after all We have a fixed 6 euro fee for international shipping regardless of the region.

BTW, adding an item to the cart will display shipping fee in the "Cart" section

Thanks, Vic!
The gallery on the site isn't fully functional yet - there will be more usability, like clicking through the pictures, while zoomed.

I actually think your website has better functions than most of the big retailers, plus you don't end up lost or fighting to find what it is you're looking for

So to you guys on that one WELL DONE !!!!!!!!

we'll try to keep it that way - clean and simple.

I think this blog currently lacks the bla-bla-bla stuff like my stories "from the crypt"... I mean table, of course

So here is the story of how I wanted to finish my Aztec guy... Frankly he's ready as he can be and I seriously planned to bring him to the resin workshop today. BUT, as it happens, last night an idea struck me, the one I could not resist... We at MyWay enjoy adding options to our models to give more room for customisation and such. However with this model I had no idea that would really fit him and expand on it's themes And now I have! The totem backpack, as cool as it may be, feels like a stand alone piece. Both the character and the totem could do without each other just fine, especially when we will release the golem bodies I talked awhile ago. So I'm adding something that can stick to his back if the totem goes elsewhere - a weapon option of a really cool (imo of course) design and form, that I never saw in a miniature before. Intrigued? Just wait a bit! I hope to finish it by the end of this week.

We all know that posts without pictures suck, so here is a shot of the totem in its current, finished form:

Cheers!

Mean...that could work as a golem's on its own...if you designed the golem that way you're truly golden.but I have to ask...what weapons option do I have to see therein?

Not sure I understand what you're thinking mate =/

When I design interchangeable bits and options I always try to think how this stuff can be used gamewise and what it can act as. I.E this totem can be a teleporting device or some kind of psi-power enhancer. Currently this character lacks ranged weapon so this new option I'm talking about will be sort of an "over shoulder cannon" but won't look like one, if that makes any sense

Considering golem bodies we design them so this totem can act like a head for any of them. Gamewise they can fit various roles depending on body type and size. For instance, a dreadnought for a medium sized golem. We're not currently sure on how we will provide those bodies: without heads at all or make a unique one for each or a whole set of heads, but in any case the goal is to make them freely interchangeable. And for that reason this current Aztec will come with a number of small magnets so people can make his back options detachable for further use with upcoming models.

Hope I cleared the whole idea

OK I am knackered so I will keep this simple AWESOME looking pack and the detail is tremendous as to the weapon idea do you mean like a Predator shoulder mounted weapon ?

I hope so as it is on TV right now LOL

lost me there but I think that is still intended^^

with this head for golems...well I expect a sort of hunchback look with them...

No worries mate! I'll write a special disclaimer explaining why this Aztec is NOT A MARINE So no one can say you're a marine lover

Here is some thoughts I'd like to share. Some may already know that I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and some times I feel unshakable urge to get in touch with Star Wars universe, at least somehow... In the absence of new media products I decided to channel this urge in a constructive way by modelling something. I've been following the FFG's X-wing miniature game development for some time and it seems like a decent game with nice miniatures and some pretty epic ships at their range. The community is growing too and many custom-built ships can be found all over the net. So why not make one myself? And while a have some ambitious ideas for such a project I thought it's wise to start by trying something small as I have no experience in building vehicles. Literally small in this case, 'cuz I've chosen a rather rare ship or better say an extention to the well known YT-1300 series - an YT-XC.

For those not geek on SW, Millenium Falcon is a YT-1300 and among pilots this series is well know for wide array of available customisation options: everything from hull shape to interior layout can be changed drastically to better suit owners needs. On of the most awesome modifications imo is an addition of a small one person exploration craft - YT-XC. Modifed by pirates and smugglers to carry weapon systems this exploration craft turned in to a nimble mini-fighter, making the YT-1300 a sort of carrier craft which is unique for a ship of such class.

Here are the only two pictures of this boat available:

The X-wing miniature range alredy has a YT-1300 ship, so I thought YT-CX might be an interesting addition for some players and collectors. Gamewise it's meant to serve as a prop (objective markers, obstacles and such) but I can see some home rules and interesting scenarios built around it.

I've started by determining its size and scaling it to the 1/270 used in X-wing game. As expected this ship turned to be tiny - 16mm length, but that doesn't stop me and here is what I've made so far:

Anybody here exept me interested in X-wing stuff

Bloody hell thats is small nice idea but I have never been into the epic ranges, however I do know the X-wing game seems to have a large and ever growing following.

Good luck with the project and interested to see how you go about working with such a small scale

As a Star Wars fan that is cool. I never know about that little ship fitting with the YT-1300. Wish I had a larger gaming group or a local FLGS that had stuff like this.

what I think is mindblowing is the aprerature you built for the ...er...build...

the model is really tiny... tiny to the breaking point of my mind...I would go ballistic with that size...can you handle that without any magnifying glasses?

and you have always a fan in anything star wars related...always

honestly tho I never saw and read anything about that ship type... any book or story line where that ship was a part of? any famous pilots for that freighter? and does this ship have any wings? the sides look like they could hold wings...

Me too would never consider a game in such scale if not for Star Wars appeal

@ deadmeat
Thanks, I lack fan-pals around too =\

@Vik
Yep, what little I learned through years of my nerdy life is that I hate when fantasy isn't backed by solid thought So I try to stick to that rule with all I do. Maked sense so far

I learned about this ship from a book "Millennium Falcon Owner's Workshop Manual", which is an official encyclopedia about history of the Corellian YT series starting with the Ebon Hawk, through XS Freighter from SW:TOR game to the Dash Rendar's YT-2400 from "Shadows of the Empire". The fact that book uses arts from SWTOR means it's somewhat fresh. Also this ship was a part of the "LEGACY COLLECTION DELUXE MILLENNIUM FALCON" playset and wookieepedia states that MF's crew operated one for some time. My guess that was in some of the numerous novels.

I've done most of the basic shapes and without lenses so far, will see how I can deal with details soon

As an extention of our helmet comission we were tasked with making matching shoulders that could be used with arms from various manufacturers and here it is, straight from my working desk:

There going to be a second version with ridges like on the helmet.

What do you think?

I like that shoulder pad better than the stock one. Its more feasible for armor.

Question: Can I make a request for something I'd like to see in your store someday? Or is it commissions only?

very interesting facts about the freighters history and development!
and I too think one of these days me face will get a bicycle too^^ but not yet

about the shoulder pads... yes! the design appeals to be quite a lot... maybe do some fur like too and as you stated some with different details! what I would like to know tho...will you sell an arm, the whole pad... or a shoulder with a pad then?... for further explanation of my mind frame here... if you do the latter then everybody could just cut off the "offending" shouldersection on the chosen arm...and then glue your work on... simple as that... otherwise we would have to shave of the pad in the first ... and well... I am not a shaver... as my stubbly head would tell the story

Backpacks are always a cool option for a mini. We'll think about something.

@ Vik
About the shoulder - it's a two sided blade my friend:
1) there are plenty of arms with no shoulders at all
2) cutting an arm in the middle is likely to destroy any fabric folds present and without them arms look lifeless.
3) restoring arm integrity after such "surgery" takes some sculpting skills
4) Cutting away the default shoulder guard from GW's IG arm took me only a few minutes and I'm not even half as proficient with modelling knife as most dakka members including you
As you can see there is no easy way around. Whatever approach we choose will have its own difficulties and here we stick to the "do not harm" rule so people can skip cutting at least sometimes.

Given that we'll stick for the shoulder plates only sets, like those common among Space Marines.

Nick's artists did a great job creating individual appearance complementing each turtle's character and I do my best to support this by giving each one a completely unique body. So NO conversions, no bits from previous entry - everything built from the ground. When four of them finally stand together none would be mistaken for another.
