No worries.

On the Land Raider note, if you're up for messing around a bit theres a hell of a load of stuff that fits in the heavy bolter/assault cannon socket:

Razorback weapons
The large weapon mount from a Defiler
Planetstrike quad autocannons, lascannons and comm units. I don't recommend the comms unit though, it looks really daft.

And finally, the truly mad one...

A Thunderfire Cannon.

Just thought I'd throw that out there, figured it might inspire you in some way.

I've seen lots of conversions floating around the nets for valks based off either huey's, chinooks, or hinds. Hinds would be my personal preference.

Not sure about that MGs are awesome. I had a Rover 214Si before this and that kicked! So the new MG ones must be the tits.

I am gonna be picking up a Defiler kit soon-ish for my next big project and a lot of the bits will be left over. I may see what I can do with it on the other Land Raider. Thunderfire is a no-no for me; don't like it. Now a Thudd Gun, that would be awesome!

I have already said it, I'll kill you!!! It's from a 1:35 PaK40. I cut it in half and simply glued it in place.

And the gunner seat is just a Sentinel head cut and chopped to fit it.

physcosamatic wrote:oh just a quick idea to throw at ya infiltraitor, you use alot of ww2 vechiels and stuff but would you reckon a guard army could use a huey for a valkrie? i was thinking about it before

I do think a Huey could be used as long as it doesn't look too much like a Huey. I was going to make a Valkyrie from a Huey and Heinkel kit before they brought out the plastic Valk.

Yeah, seen a lot of that too. I'm personally gonna model mine after the V-22:

I like the idea of the Minotaur but I'm not keen on the art-deco styling of it.

Try somewhere like Bits and Kits in the UK. Or The Combat Company from Australia. Both favourites of mine and between them stock everything! And as for the tanks, go for something that isn't well-known. The French Char D-1 works well as do the US LVT. The Soviet T-28 is also awesome and I want one of them myself. I've also considered using Soviet T-26s as Sentinel proxies. Sorry for the abbreviations but that's what they're called Try Wikiing them to get a jist of the look.

I'm sorry everybody for lack of photographic updates. Been so busy with the car today but I have managed to get my tanks to a stage where all I need to do is mudify them and then varnish them then they're done. Will get snaps tomorrow. Russturm is completely done also.

In the meanwhile, feast your eyes on this puppy!

It's so bad but I love it. If you think it doesn't look good now, you should've seen it when I picked it up!!! Still not done yet

The gritty style that all your mini's have is amazing. Loving the WW2 tank chasis, gives your force a loveable rogue (vicious heretic?) feel. Like they all came together from around the Galaxy and just said "Lets kill things. We have kick-ass tanks, so why not?". Your traitor guard are clearly the best this guy with hardly any posts has ever seen.

Everybody but him knew it

UPDATE!

I've done a little bit to my babies today. Been feeling quite tired so didn't get as much as I had hoped done. But here we go...

It's almost done. Forgot about the imperial eagles on the sponsons and had to take them off. Need to reapply varnish as it's gone silly buggers. Also need to finish the tracks and apply mud.

This Chimera again. Almost done now. Just need to apply mud.

Tracks for this are drying as we speak. I love how the colour of this has turned out. Did it slightly different from how I usually do my tanks. Still need to do final detailing on it.

Again, same tank.

One for FP. This baby is still a long way from being done.

Almost done this one. Again, need to finish tracks. Not bad for a 'reclaimed' Chimera.

This is pretty much done now. Chuffed with how it turned out in the end

Come on then, you smurfs! Charge THAT!

Not amazing but I thought I'd show the progress of this. It's sort of on the back burner at the mo.

You may have seen this in the P&M area. It's almost done! I'm still working on the shield and I am also waiting on some Light Dust pigments from my FLGS for the wheels. Tracks also need doing.

See above.

It's been a vehicle heavy week. I am going to focus on infantry again next week and get at least my HQ squad done alongside another heavy weapons team and an infantry squad.

Until then, thanks for looking!

About time I chimed in with a few nice words methinks. Nice gritty style, and I like what you've done with the tanks. Still, they're traitors so they'll have to be burninated .

Just a minor bit of criticism: the green chimera's barrel doens't look finished: nothing that says 'gun barrel' to me. But then again, that's just nitpicking

in conclusion: MOAR!!!!!

Thank you for tuning in! As for the barrel, I can explain it. I took my inspiration from the Soviet T-34 as I always felt the Chimera had a sort of T-34 style to it. This is also why it is green. It's used in games as an autocannon.

Pfft, so melodramatic. Did you know that 8 out of 10 evil dark lords fail in the first year simply because they spend more time on their oratory skills than actually being evil? Food for thought, don't you think?

I saw someone here on dakka who modelled his psyker battle squad as little kids. Very creepy.

Ghouls and flaggelants get used by a lot of people.

For my own traitor guard I was thinking something along the lines of released rogue psykers. A world in uprising, the renegades would probably release all psykers currently holed up in the dungeons awaiting pick-up from the black ships. Sadly, the only model so far I have found is the Mordheim Witch model.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
