I've been following your blog for a couple of months and I like what I've seen. I've taken inspiration from your shrine and I intend to make a chaos alter using similar materials.
Hmmm...
I'm going to have a SM named after me (one of porukslime's Deathwatch) so a grave would be brilliant. I'll PM you)

What do you use for the bases of your buildings, if you don't mind me asking?

I am glad you like it!! As for the bases for the buildings I use warhammer fantasy modular movement trays. They are very versatile, you can cut them and use them for bases, floors, ceilings and roofs. The Water Plant buildings roof is actually a movement tray. Look very carefully and you can see every time is used them. Try it out they are wonderful!! Keep the comments coming!!

OoH! I wanna be on a grave!
Write my initials: C.O.T.
Or write Orsufer, my Space Marine Sergeant's name.
OR write Lucien, because it's an awesome name.
And while you're at it, make me a sandwich, dammit.

I was wondering whether or not the reason that I have to give for being in your graveyard was to be real or '40k fictional'.
I have a reason either way.
I admire your patience in waiting for the water effects to dry, and I like the nice effects you added, the skeleton and the lasgun.

What ever you want, I just believe that the Dakka community has inspired me to finally finish this project after 2 years being shelved. The reason I decided to have 3 of you guys in my graveyard is a way of giving back to the Dakka members!!! I discovered this website and rediscovered my long lost city of death. Sooo this is thank you and the winners will be announced via a picture of the painted headstones!! Thanks again for your feedback and support

Hahaha, I WAS joking. I don't even have a space marine sergeant, nevermind one named Orsufer
I believe you should save your headstones for those who are gentlemanly, courteous, and can have a steak strapped to their head and still hold out against a horde of baboons with chainsaws for hands for 60 seconds AT THE VERY LEAST. It takes a special kind of mental patient for that sort of thing.

As always thanks for all the comments and support!! I am looking forward to starting/finishing my next project the graveyard. My bitz and armorcast orders have been shipped so any day now I will be back to work. I am fairly excited about Gamesday and maybe I will of few of you there. Don't be afraid to say hi if you spot me !!
Also to HadoukenAvenger you are a funny chap with a strange scene of humor , and strange as it is my wife thought your sandwich comment was funny!! I guess we all read things differently and having said that you are now just a Nerf Herder, you are no longer Scruffy!!

Just a quick post today, I used the weathering powder on my factory and here are the pics. I am thinking about putting a crater in the middle should look pretty sweet when it is done. As always thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Looking good. I think a rubble pile may be more fitting than a crater?
Of if you do make a crater, perhaps a crater with lots of rubble in it?

That is kinda what I was thinking, maybe a old tank factory!?!? I have lots of bitz for that, broken tank tracks, battle cannons, and some other wreckage. I don't know I will kick it around awhile.
Thanks for the idea

If you have the bits to do it, that would be great.
Perhaps a ruined conveyor belt and some robot arms hanging from what is left of the ceiling?

I'd say rubble over a crater...unless you have rubble and a crater with the inner walls burnt or covered in mud/dust etc from the shell/explosion.
The main reason I am posted though is you shrine looks beautiful. To the extent when I start building some Nercomunda terrain I may have to pinch some of your cool idea and implementation.
Thanks nice log

Maybe if the crater is going to be in the factory, it could have been caused by a defective tank shell ( or even the tank itself!) it would explain the explosion inside methinks! The weathering looks great on those buildings btw.
