Was the other half people pointing out that he did say both this and that?

Dimbleby did a reasonable job of holding the spotlight on her for a little while...but of course the crowd were baying for the head of Nick Griffon (and rightfully so, although the smug tosser who called him 'dick griffon' needs a swift kick to the gakker for being gak at humourz...).
I am still left with the feeling that they should have left Griffon come on and then used the standard format and covered a wide range of issues and questions on policy, that way the BNP could have been rightfully picked to pieces for having no real policies other than 'we're fascist!!1!' . Instead he was the subject (target) of all bar 1 or 2 questions and in being directly vilified like that, can go home to his nazi buddies and say 'told you the BBC was run by queers and jews'.
Jack Straw was useless in that show. The rest of the panel stunk. Only Bonnie Greer was ok and even she was grandstanding and as a curator of the British Museum she was entirely wrong when she said that the UK had been entirely covered by glacier during the last ice age. The South wasn't, Cornwall wasn't.
QFT. Couldnt have said it better myself.

Its not?
Seriously, it isn't as though people like Griffon can be pushed to the margins through reasoned confrontation. People don't support reactionary movements because its the rational thing to do. Was he supposed to come away from the program thinking: "Oh, I was wrong, there are neither Jews, nor homosexuals working at the BBC. No foreigners either. Good for them!"? If Griffon really believes what he says, then no amount of confrontation will change his mind, or those of his supporters.
Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
What I want to know is why no-one has tried to take him out.
That must be pretty depressing, that you are so pathetic even Religious Radicals don't have an interest in killing you.

That's not his job on the show, never has been, if you watch the show more often this is quite obvious and why there was no "stitch up" on the night. And now think about why said gentleman was invited on in the first place..... and look at the massive increase in viewing figures it delivered . You are effectively complaining that the firemen who turned up to douse a blaze didn't then hunt down and arrest the arsonist.
It's never a polite and reasoned debate with point, counterpoint, summary, rebuttal and so on. It's more entertaining this way, and that's the way they like it and that is Mr. Dimbleby's job. Nothing else.
I defy anyone who looked at that programme to say he did a fine job. Are you sure you are not letting your own personal opinion of the odious Mr Griffin affect your judgement in some way?
I've already said that.
I'll simply throw your question back at given your pre stated considered support for the "gentleman".

Pre-stated support? Your kidding arent you? I specifically stated i would not and never have voted for his party, and said if it was "anyone else" i would vote for them in protest.
I also called Griffin "odious" and "google eyed"

I support free speech, and at a push in the current climate, David Cameron. Not Nick Griffin.
You are simply building a strawman argument, i never said it. Entirely pointless when everything i have written is there in black and white for everyone to read. I absolutely do not support that mans bigotry in any way, and no fair minded reader would say otherwise.
You seem to support free speech if everyone agree's with you.
That is not free speech.

Gwar, your aware parliament makes all the rules now right? To be fair, politicians are all so slimy i think id prefer the Queen to make all the rules.
Well...
Until she dies and her gibbering chinless son with appalling taste in women takes over.

De Facto perhaps. De Jure "Elizabeth II, Dei Gratia Britanniarum Regnorumque Suorum Ceterorum Regina, Consortionis Populorum Princeps, Fidei Defensor" is still very much in power, albeit constrained by the Magna Carta Libertatum of 15 July A.D. 1215 and eventually finalised on 12 October A.D. 1297 as part of a statute called Confirmatio cartarum, reconfirming Henry III's shorter version of Magna Carta from A.D. 1225.

Considering what happened to the last 2 Charles, and the fact the queen is gonna outlive him, I wouldn't worry about it too much

I genuinelly hope that is the case. The current monarch is very hard to dislike, she is pleasent and dignified and i like her alot. Indeed, I read alot of Christopher Hitchens work (anti royalist) and even he admits the woman has some charm.
Her son however is an absolute buffoon. It is said that he may abdicate and give it straight to William if the Queen takes a turn. I hope that happens, the man is an embarrasment.

Damn right. William is right for King. He has a modicum of style and intelligence (unlike Charles) and Harry is just beyond hope :p And William is a man of the military (as much as you can be when you are the Heir to the largest Kingdom in the World) which gives him a semblance of the Kings of Yore.

Charles, however, DOES do a lot of work for 'charidee'. Both his sons seem to spend most of their time getting pissed and playing polo - although mattyrm has met the ginger one and says he's 'alright'.

I was refering entirely to the part where you said "i cannot in good conscience bring myself to vote for the BNP, I swear i am THIS close to doing so."
..which, given you are ,apparently, close to voting to them is surely indicative of some support for them, if only minor. That and your continued outrage on his behalf.

And you go on about a strawman without actually countering any of the points I've already raised. Hmm.. okay.

Charles suffers the same problem that Edward VII had... too long to wait.
Edward VII was 59 when he became king. Charles is already 60 and Elizabeth II isn't going anywhere soon.

The main problem I foresee tbh is who William is going to pick as the Royal Babymaker

Reducing this to some informal maths for a moment. If the Queen doesn't abdicate and lives as long as her mother Charles will take the Throne at age 79 (in 18 years). His father is currently 88 so he should get at least a decade before William takes the crown, aged 45.
Red, we shall agree to disagree, i do not support the party, and the outrage was entirely on the part of freedom of speech, which i think is absolutely the most important thing in any first world democracy.
On another note, I dont think The princes are as bad as people are making out, i mean, at the end of the day, they at least try to do something, Harry went out to "the Gan" and William has done a few jollies in the military.
Can we not admit that most of us in their position would kick back and enjoy an idle life of partying and spending mummies money?
Im not really feeling the whole "anti royal" thing. Sure being from a working class background im not massively pro royal. I just dont feel they deserve all the slack they get.
The immediate family mind. Im not happy with the 50 other hangers on in the background we have to support as well. I mean.. nobody knows half of them.. surely we could get by with 4 or 5?!
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
I'd sat its actually democracy is more important but... ...
Agreed with most of the above comments with regards to the Royals. To be blunt : it works well enough so why interfere, especially when we don't really have a viable alternative that will be better in any quantifiable manner.
Can we not admit that most of us in their position would kick back and enjoy an idle life of partying and spending mummies money?
damn straight..and.. they're damend whatever they do. Don't work, they're sponging playboys, work and they're either taking jobs from people who really need them.
..with this thread now having gone wwaayy off course and alerted the secret NWO that we're onto their nefarious schemes I'm going to lock this now.
