Yep, sorry about the delay guys. I checked my inbox yesterday but had nothing the could be admitted there, then I had a social life to attend to!
I currently have 7 PM's though so shall get to them and then maybe the Stage 2's can be uploaded.

If anyone has an idea on how to sort that, it'd be spiffing, because all I've got is using the Mk.5 painter and 'finalise image'.

In other news however, one of the finalists is still yet to respond, I can't imagine it's tricky to guess who to be honest.

And, Hits_the_Spot's True Scale Space Marines continue and I'm very impressed.

The problem seems to be that you are attempting to link directly to an email attachment:

Download the image, then host it on photobucket/imageshack/etc.

Yep, I thought it had worked as well, but obviously only I could see it. However, I'm not a user of photobucket or whatnot and I'm fairly bogged down with other things at the moment, so if anyone else can get the Hive Rats image sorted, that'd be great thank you.

Also, I now intend to post the stage 2's and will then send PM's with the stage 3 details.

I can host the image of the rats colours if you can get the user or you can forward me the photo i'll upload it to my photobucket and get a link for you ?

Out of curiousity, seeing how there was so much interest expressed, would someone be able to rise up and take the 8th spot? Im sure the vast majority of the other folks who expressed interest could send you info post haste

The entries are all good so far. I like the attention to detail here as well. Some of those chapter symbols are awesome!

Dangit, I was hoping they'd all be really bad...I guess I jinxed myself. Hoping for more info on some of these in particular though, they seem interesting!

Hornets look like they got a jump pack and weapons out of no where

It pretty much all looks good so this comp will probably be close.

The Hornets looks like they just wrote "yes please" on the equipment requisition form

And I think that smaller numbers might mean "more specialised" and "more cool".

Since everyone went with smallish numbers, I assume there isn't any harm in talking about it.

I went with smaller numbers for two reasons. The first is that I wanted my army to fit into the background of the universe realistically. And, from a realistic standpoint, none of you have ever heard of them. Why? Because they aren't that numerous.

Reason two was that I wanted to deviate as little from canon as possible. By codex, a chapter has a maximum of one thousand, but can be smaller due to attrition. I for one am pleased by the smaller numbers, since it fits more neatly into the background of the game world.

I was both happy (and a little sad) to see that none of the entries were outright ridiculous ones. Happy, because the other contestants are taking this seriously. A little sad, because it means more legitimate competition!

I did consider it, but personally I'm not sure... It seems OK with Seven IMHO but I can't imagine an eighth would hurt. But then there's the problem of selecting the 8th and having them make up their chapter. I'm honestly not sure, but definitely leaning towards 'no'...

I completely agree, I was massively impressed. The Hornets have a goodun' too, just need the size to be sorted. However I have removed the Dark Avenger's chapter symbol as it was a copy of the Eagle Warriors.

I was also similarly surprised, yet pleased! That's why I put a size restriction as I didn't want anyone being too 'ridiculous' and trying to make the best Chapter full of uber marines...

So yes, I'm quite pleased about that, and as Jim said, it makes sense and isn't ridiculous.

All the chapters look awesome, I'm really curious about the Stage 3 fluff the others will write.
