Well, I got to talking to her, but got put into the "friend zone", which could work either way, to tell the truth.

I went to lunch, and five minutes later, she did. We got to talking, and she seemed kinda defensive, and I was getting discouraged, so I left without asking for her number or anything. Well, when I was signing out, she walked into the back, and we got to talking again. When I turned to leave, she apologized for her defensiveness, saying she thought I was just talking to her solely to get her number for "one good night", and that she had "just gotten out of a terrible relationship and wasn't ready for another, and she was happy I didn't make a pass at her." I told her that of course I didn't, girls have cooties and she laughed at that, so that is good at least.

So, It's a foul ball, I still have a strike, but I still hit the ball, too.
