Then how do new characters get phased in?

I like the sound of a D6 system - not as extreme as Seric's, but maybe a D4ish system: 1-3 is a light wound, back next battle, 4-5 is a bad wound, misses 1 battle, and a 6 is a fatality. Although keeping track of this will be a pain. haha.

this is my problem gavo, having to roll for that many casualties, i might do it per squad, so everytime a squad is wiped out (for example you would imagine if a squad loses 3-4 men they would be able to call in a medic for evac, whereas if they all die, then no one could..

so maybe if the squad is wiped out 1= dead, 2-5 miss a battle 6= light scratches, back for next battle, it also allows for 1 survivor to be heroic by dragging his squadmates back

new characters will only be an issue i think when we have filled the platoon, and with too much money (due to student loans and selling armies) and an ever growing collection (for example, 3 leman russes today) i dont think that will be soon

and besides for those complaining about us having tanks, there really is only one reason why Catachan forces take tanks:
