Youll be getting close to your mark for six hundred points. At that level control is better so a Tactical captain and assault squad are good bets plus then youve got two troops and use what points youve got left on what you want. Against Dark eldar a Baal pred would probs be a good I dea especially if its got the assault cannon.

Okay, that would be highly ironic because the baal pred gunner is the general of the dark eldar! :L but it's only got the flamey stuff on it, no assault cannons... Do you still think it's a good idea?

Possibly it depends on how mechanized he is if you can scout it forward and either use it or other weapons to crack open raiders then flame them which should kill anything that it flames. Its armours not bad either so you should survive a round or two in shooting in which you could easily make more than It's point worth in.

unless he has loads of Darklances then i don't really fancy it's chances :S

Hmmm... I think he could lean towards that style of play!

The i vote soldiers instead of tanks, devastators for opening the raiders and taking down the ravagers then other troops for killing the eldar as most of the DE weapons aren't particularly strong but stick to cover incase he desides to use the dark lances on your squads

I'll grab the Honour Guard with Company Banner.

Name: Brother Dalorath
Likes: Keeping the Company colours flying high and inspiring his fellow battlebrothers with motivating waving of said banner and loud battleprayers.
Dislikes: Heresy, the fact that Sanguinius is dead and that there where no Chaplain-slots available.

Since Brother Dalorath's got chosen for the honour of carrying the Company Banner into battle he has become a man possessed by this task.
Even to the point of keeping a close watch outside the reliquary where its kept while the company is outside the battlefield, whenever his other duties as a Blood Angel allows it.
During battle he is torn between his inner bloothirst and the protection of the Company Banner, ever fearing to lose control of himself and thus sullying his personal honour and the Chapters(both figuratively and literally as the Company Banner would fall into the dirt).

Thank you brother dalorath! I'm glad to have such a dedicated warrior to carry our sacred banner into combat!

It doesn't matter too much! As long as people are enjoying themselves and we purge loads of heretics and xenos and other enemies to the emperor, it's fine by me! I'm just finalising the list for tomorrow's battle, i've never played against DE before, and he's never played as DE before, so it should be... interesting...

Dont let troops get isolated, or at least thats the advice I always see.

Yeah, I wish it could be more points! But it doesn't really matter, our first battle as a characterful unit shall be small, but will end in victory!

I am sorry brother azazel, but the command squad is an expensive unit, too expensive for this small skirmish!

I figured if you want to go against dark eldar you should run a librarian, keep him simple, a dreadnought with fist and a assault squad,jp,pf and 2 meltas. maybe run a 5 man dc with pf too

i don't have a librarian, and that doesn't leave me much chance if it is an objective match! :/
